Comcast "Deal" made with former cable company, promised nothing would change Richmond Indiana

Recently in Indiana, Insight communications company struck a "deal" with Comcast, which let comcast now run everything here. Telephone, Internet, Cable. Now in Richmond, Comcast is our only choice for Internet and Cable.

They recently stated in a letter, e-mail and commercial that nothing at all would change when the switch happened(January 2008) but it did. My whole block had no cable or internet for 2 weeks. They wouldn't even acknowledge the phone calls we made to them to ask what was wrong. They said "its normal to have outages this long". When the cable and internet finally came back on, the internet would go as slow as dial up and that lasted until February 20th. The cable was horrible, it would go on and off, and for the people who had digital, forget it none of the digital channels worked, nor did the on demand channels.

I do not subscribe to their phone service but a friend of mine does and says he still does not have phone, he has not had home phone service since the switch(January 2008). He had to use my phone to contact them even after he specifically said he was calling from a friend's house they told him "it sounds like you have phone service there is no problem".

As for their prices. Normally with Insight everything was cheap and affordable. But with comcast, its barely affordable. Here are some of the prices that were changed.

High speed broadband internet: Before comcast: $30 a month With Comcast: $60 a month

Digital cable: Before comcast: $25 a month With comcast $50 a month

Basic cable: Before comcast: $15 a month(if more than one TV, the other TVs were free) With comcast: $30 a month(extra TVs cost an extra $10 a month)

As for their phone this is from my friend his information. Before comcast: $30 a month With comcast: $50 a month.

How does comcast get away with charging those outrageous prices? Before comcast came along my total cable bill was $70 a month, but now with comcast its $160 a month. A $90 increase, its outrageous.

Trust me, next time comcast promises something do not listen to them and switch your services if you can. Because comcast is the worst cable company I have had to date.
