My teen child started working her first job. This company uses Comdata for their cheap payroll services. My child opened an account for direct deposit however Comdata is required for the first couple of transactions until direct deposit can be started. Please note that my child is a special needs child, however any teen would fall into this trap easily. Comdata has it set up for instant rip off. My teen was sure a PIN for her Comdata card was made when she filled out paperwork for her job. She filled out direct deposit paperwork so why wasn't this PIN made then? Why does Comdata have it that you have to call to set up your pin when you get your little pay in the account? Because they are looking for you to do what my daughter did. She was so thrilled when her little check stub came in the mail even if all she earned was $70.00. She attempted to use the Comdata card at the nearest ATM listed on the internet and access was denied. Thinking that she had the wrong PIN, a second attempt was made with a different password. Discouraged, my teen returned home and called Comdata. She was told that the Comdata account balance was about $3 less than what was in there a half hour prior. I called Comdata, sure there was a mistake. I was told that the first attempt, even though it was denied and access to the account was never made, counted as her "first" transaction, therefore the only free transaction until the next payroll, then she was charged $1.75 as an ATM withdrawal, even though she didn't have a "PIN" and again no transaction was made. Then after she called and got a PIN number and went back to the ATM, she was charged another $1.75 to finally get $60 out as ATM's only allow you to take money to the nearest ten. I requested that the initial $3.50 be refunded to my teen and I was basically laughed at. My child works 30 minutes to make the amount of money they removed because she wasn't acclimated to their stupid system. Your system is made to rip people off and to take advantage of the naive and the disadvantaged. Comdata, you and your employees should be ashamed of yourselves. Don't tell me that you provide a service for those people who can't have a checking account! Who are those people who can't have a checking account? The illegals? You are set up to rip those people off, people who are at your mercy. May you burn in hell.
