In March 2010 an unknown "COMM-SERVICES LLC 04014292943" charged my credit card $9.95 and about 10 days later a trashy DVD I didn't order arrived in thin plain white DVD envelope with return address "Comm-Services T" (350 SUnset Ave, Ocean, NJ  07712).  The postmark area had plain printing that said "First Class   US Postage Paid    Permit #3    New Brunswick NJ".

Other ripoffreport.com complaints about Comm-Services suggested they may have gotten my card from iKitchen.com (or any of a few other names), and that seems to be right.  Nearly a year ago I placed an order there and a couple weeks later inquired for status, and then cancelled my order when I received their response saying it was still backordered.  "Michele Adams" (possibly IP# 173.52.147.76 -- a NYC location) politely acknowledged my cancellation.  (Their correspondence seemed almost exactly like other people have reported here.)

I don't have proof that iKitchen.com deliberately passed my credit card # to Comm-Services rather than having been a victim of theft of old records, but it sure seems suspicious and there's more complaints about iKitchen.com at retailerratings.com for incidents just like this and unfulfilled backorders (the first half of the scheme).

I'm grateful to the other reports here for helping me understand what was going on.
