Ahhhhhhh . . . I remember it well. It was just a few weeks before Spring Break last year, the year of 2001 when the call came in. Some magazine company, I don't even remember the name. I barely remember it at all, you see I'm a stupid college student and I had to get to class when these assholes called me. Once again, I'll admit it I was stupid, I took three calls from three different from the same frickin' company before I had to rush to Visual Merchandising. Some where in there I had numbly pulled out my credit card and read off it's number. I thought I'd just cancel everything once I got the bill. I didn't want magazines, I didn't even want a lady's watch, I just wanted to get to class.

The next thing I knew $66.66 was missing from my account and I didn't have enough money to buy groceries. Plus, I was recieving magazines I didn't want, and was recieving calls at ungodly hours of the morning from MOS magazine. When I went home for spring break I got on the phone with my bank and they told me to cut up my credit card, and that they'd issue it lost or stolen. So to make a long story short, the credit card used by MOS magazine is looking for is loooooong gone. I have a new credit card and MOS magazine had a complaint from me and my bank. I recieved my $66.66 back in full.

Then out of no where Consolidated Media Services pops up. I don't even know who they are, all I know is that they're demanding money. In fact they're demanding the $66.66 I recieved back. I talked to some guy from CMS magazine to tell them to stop harassing me, either Paul or Brian, I don't remember it was one of the names, telling me I had to pay this amount in order to close my account. Um . . . I shouldn't have to pay money in order to close an account.

Still they are sending me s**t saying that I owe them money and that my "scheduled monthly payment of $66.66 was rejected by [my] credit card company." No f***ing kidding. My credit card company knows what's going on. In fact the woman I talked to at my credit card company told me, after I reiterated that my account with MOS magazines and consolidated media service were the same, is that they are scared that they aren't going to get their money now that they don't have access to my account. Now they're telling me that they are giving me a so called "grace period" before they report me to the "CMS COLLECTION RECOVERY GROUP." ohhhhh . . . I'm scared.

Look, I don't know about the rest of you, but my advice is to close your accounts and call these guys: Better Business Bureau 100 Edgewood Ave. NE STE 1012 Atlanta, GA 30303 (404) 688-0443

Unfortunately, the Better Business Bureau can not handle any legal affairs, so you're best bet in that area is to contact a lawyer or go through any organizations located in the secretary of state in Georgia. http://sos.state.ga.us/default.asp I do believe is the web address for it, if not knock of the default.asp part. They will be better in assisting in legal areas.

Good luck to you guys! I hope I've helped in any way, this is crap. I can't believe that all of us got ripped off by this company, and it's still standing. I wish you guys the best.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, its paid for!
