I was on line at pricegrabber.com looking at mp3 players. I found a SanDisk at an unbelievable price. I started to purchase it and at the last minute noticed that this item is not working. I immediately called the number provided with the web site and a man answered the phone and he did not have any trouble finding the item I purchased. I explained that I wanted to cancel that particular order. He told me the transaction was not finalized, and that I need not worry about canceling anything. Also he told me to ignore e-mails that confirmed my payment. That the e-mails were automated and would generate automaticly. there was nothing he could do to stop it. I took him at his word, and ended the phone call.

I then notice a charge on my bank statement for $19.99 from comsumerdepot.com. I knew that the mp3 player I had started to buy was the exact identical price. I did some checking and found out that pricegrabber.com and consumerdepot.com are connected. I called the same phone number I had called last time to cancel this order, and a woman answered the phone. She told me she could not find the transaction number that was on my bank statement. I remembered receiving the e-mail I was told to ignore. I looked that up and it had the exact same transaction number on the e-mail. She explained that that number was not in her system, but she would check on another system. She came back and said once again that the transaction number I was giving her was not on the system, and she could do nothing about my problem. She then stated if I had a problem with the deduction from my account, that I should take it up with my bank. Which I did, and the bank told me to send the item back and save the receipt for the mailing, and that they would then dispute the transaction. The problem with that is I need an RMA number to return the item, and after registering with their site (pricegrabber.com) it also did not find my transaction number.

I then sent went to customer service section of the web page and sent an e-mail saying I wanted to return this item. The return e-mail stated that there are only three reason they would grant a return, 1. The item is defective 2.The wrong item was sent 3. Accessories were missing. The other problem is with out a transaction number you cannot get a RMA number to return with, and they said in the e-mail that anything sent with out an RMA number will be not accepted.

I also tried to call Consumer Depot and only could get a recorded message saying if I leave a name and number that I would be contacted later. Well, so far not contact.
