How many individuals this so called Consumer First has deceived? I am not sure if there has been others like me, but I think that something should be done about it. They certainly do not put Consumers First!!!

I have spoken with the FTC, and NYS Consumer Protection Board and I have made a complaint against Consumers First, and they have told me to contact the National Fraud Center and I intend to do so.

If you havent done this, you should!

Are they in Disguise? Beware..

AUTHOR: Bonnie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 08, 2003

I have reported Consumer First to the NYS Consumer Portection Board, FTC and to the National Fraud Center.

Apparently, the FTC is filing suit against these people.

I was surfing the net, and guess what I have found....... I think they may be in disguise.......I am not sure, but it just sounds like they changed the name and the marketing materials.....but as you read it, it sounds to me like the same organization as Consumer First........BEWARE>>>>>>>>>>

story&header=aboutus

I have taken the liberty of taking a few exerpts from the site.....

"Our customized software and payment process enables us to offer refunds to Consumers at participating merchants nationwide. It also offers those same individuals the opportunity to become Consumer Advocates and create residual income by enrolling other Consumers to enjoy the benefits of becoming a Consumer FIRST customer."

* No pictures of the card are shown *
"Artwork and design of our new cards is in process. Please stay tuned for the new look of our Consumer FIRST cards...
Coming Soon!"

"Becoming a Card Member is easy, simply click on the Become a Card Member button on the left, and complete the online application. Because the Consumer FIRST Debit Card is not a credit card, there is no credit approval required, so you won't be turned down."

"Once your online application is complete, your order will be processed immediately and you should expect to receive your card in the mail within 2 to 4 weeks."

"Not only will you be able to enjoy all the benefits the Consumer FIRST Card offers, including earning refunds direct from Consumer FIRST when you use it at our participating merchants, you can even earn money by becoming a Consumer Advocate and enrolling other Consumers who enjoy the benefits of becoming a Consumer FIRST cardholder. For more information on how you can become a Consumer Advocate, simply click on Advocates above."

and on this site I also found this......I am so confused it is not funny- I feel that I ahve been lied to so much, I suspect everyone.
Questions have arisen regarding another company illegally using the Consumer FIRST name. It is important that the facts in this matter be made public.

This other company is based in Tampa, Florida and offers credit cards for a fee. These credit cards are apparently never delivered once payment is made. This firm has received extensive coverage on a deceptive business website - The RIP-OFF Report.

It should be made clear that this other company is not related or affiliated with Consumer FIRST, LLC. Furthermore, Consumer FIRST, LLC owns all rights and interest in the Consumer FIRST name as covered in our filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The Consumer FIRST name is our registered property and we maintain the exclusive rights to conduct business under that name in virtually all areas of the financial services industry. Our trademark includes exclusive use of the Consumer FIRST name in credit card services, debit card services, stored value cards, electronic transactions, funds transfer and ATM services, to name a few areas covered by this trademark.

Our legal counsel has sent a 'cease and desist' notice to the Tampa-based company who is illegally conducting business under our name. They have also notified Mr. Bob Butterworth, the Attorney General for the State of Florida. We have not yet received a response from the other company and they continue to operate illegally using our name. We will be escalating legal actions against them until they stop using our good name.

If you or anyone you know have problems with Consumer First of Tampa, Florida - please contact the Attorney General for the State of Florida.* This matter is under active investigation. Consumer FIRST will continue to pursue all legal remedies until this is resolved.

While this matter concerns us, we must continue to focus on doing what's right for our Consumer Advocates, customers and business partners. We are dedicated to operating Consumer FIRST in a fair, honest and professional manner - The Way It Should Be!

I guess you need to make your own decisions....But I know I am not ever going to be taken again! Lets hope that the FTC gets us some restitution. GO FTC!!!!!!
