Like countless others who've filed reports on this site, I too was taken advantage of by Consumer Incentive Promotions. Here's a brief recap of what I've experienced to date:

Despite long being a skeptic of offers such as the ones advertised by CIP (e.g. "get a free laptop...just complete x number of offers"), I signed up for CIP after my son had received several free items through a similar company (Gratis Internet, LLC). Unfortunately, I must say that my experience with CIP has been nothing like my son's positive experience with Gratis.

As always, I was very careful to read all of CIP's terms & conditions, and I proceeded to complete the requirements accordingly with CIP promising a free 32" flatscreen TV. I completed the survey, and signed up for 6 different offers (two on each page, as spelled out on the site). I logged back into the site a few days later and 5 of the 6 completed offers were showing up as complete. The only offer for which I hadn't received credit was PetCare RX, despite the fact that I had the pet supplies and invoice to prove that I had indeed placed an order with them.

To make a long story short, I waited the 6 weeks that CIP claims it can take an advertiser to report credit to them, but I was never given credit. I proceeded to email CIP via the webform on their site countless times, with nary a response.

After reading on ripoffreport.com, I was able to find CIP's phone number and called 6 or 7 times, leaving messages for numerous employees (including Will in gift fulfillment at ext. 139) but never receiving a call back. I also contacted PetCare RX and a customer service representative confirmed that I had indeed completed an order with them on 2/2/05 (I have the order number and left it in all of my messages) and said that they would again contact CIP expressing such.

With CIP's 90-day window (convenient how they include that, huh?) fast expiring, I have now sought legal counsel (looking into a possible class action) and will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the NC Attorney General's office, and the FL Attorney General's office. Additionally, my son works for a U.S. Senator and works closely with the FTC and DOJ. He is determined to do what he can to have these agencies investigate this company, should they continue to neglect my situation. I'm offering them the opportunity to rectify my situation before proceeding further.

I have documented all of my correspondence with CIP and will gladly update you all, should they respond to my inquiries.

Looks like it's on the way...

Well, since I last posted everything has gone according to how others said it would. I received an email from a CIP rep confirming that they received my faxed confirmation and that I had met my requirements for the free TV.

They sent one more email to follow up and said my order would be shipped within 3-4 weeks.

Right around the 3 week mark I received a letter stating that a Sony 32" TV had been shipped and should arrive within a few weeks. At this point, I'm becoming quite optimistic about it's arrival.

I'll post once more as soon as it arrives.

Thanks to the information I found on ripoffreport.com and to much persistence, I finally spoke to a live human on the phone at CIP.

After trying random phone extensions at the prompt (in the range of 101-140), I happened to get Marty on phone. Marty, while very nice, works in development and unfortunately wasn't an individual who could directly assist me. Marty did, however, make sure that I got to speak to a live receptionist who he said would properly direct my inquiry.

Sure enough, Marty put me though to Jasmine, who took down my information and assured me that someone with the Gift Redemption Center would return my call within 3-5 business days. A few days later, I had a voicemail from Summer with the Gift Redemption Center in which she instructed me to fax some form of confirmation (an invoice, confirmation email, or the like) to her attention and she would credit my account, and I would receive my TV within 3-4 weeks.

Well, I faxed the confirmation today, so now we'll see what happens. But I must say that I am cautiously optimistic because my experience to this point sounds nearly identical to many of the others who've filed reports on this site who eventually received their gifts.

As many others have said, PERSISTENCE is the key.

I'll update again in a few weeks on whether or not I've received my gift.
