I went to Archer Dealership to purchase a vehicle. My credit wasn't too good and I was offered financing through Consumer Mortgage. I had to put $1500 down and then call the finance company for an interview.

They were really cordial and I thought, huh! finally a company that I can trust. I had the vehicle for approximately 4 years and whenever I had an illness or something that caused me to be a couple of days late, they would work with me.

I had called Tim to receive my payoff because I wanted to trade my vehicle in and was told I had one last payment due before my vehicle was paid off. I told them that I was going to bring the payment in which would be a day following the payment day. When I woke up that morning, my vehicle was gone. I called Consumer Mortgage and they informed me that they did not have my vehicle. I reported it stolen and found out that Consumer Mortgage did in fact have my vehicle picked up.

I called them back and they informed me that they repo'd my vehicle for non-payment and I now owed $1200 for towing in addition to two additional payments as there was a mixup on my payoff date. There was no arguing Dolores or Tim, who she would always refer me to. Also there were two Tim's: Tim C and Tim H and if you didn't know which Tim you wanted to talk to then you were just out of luck.

I took the payment in so that I could get my vehicle back and they told me that it was on the other side of town. This was after several conversations with Delores, Tim and someone else sending me from one side of town to another. Delores came out and very rudely told me that I could just leave the vehicle to them if I didn't want it; walked off and would not take my payment. I informed her and the receptionist that she didn't  have to be so rude and I was going to talk to someone else before I left there. Finally, I was sent back to Tim H who took my payment, gave me a receipt and called someone to bring my car back to a location that was a little closer to them (gas station).

I later took my vehicle to a dealership to trade it in, had all the paperwork signed and a contract was agreed upon. Right when the salesman was handing me the keys to my new vehicle another the finance manager called him inside. I was informed that there was a repo on my tradein vehicle and they could not sell me a car.

How could this car be repo'd if I have all the paperwork in hand, including the vehicle? They told me that this could not be helped as they had just received a call from Delores at Consumer Finance Co.

I was boiling mad because I had no idea that there had been a report made on my credit!

I called Consumer Mortgage and they told me that I had been a day late, they repo'd my vehicle and all I have to do is pay them $1200 and they will take it off my report. I'm blowing smoke out of my ears at the unfairness! She said either that or just let the repo stay on my record and work around it, they were not going to take it off nor amend it.

Dolores from Consumer Mortgage will hang up on a person, yell like a banshy with a major attitude. How they get by with this treatment, I don't know. I tried securing an attorney but with this being a family-owned establishment, they must have many public officials in their pocket. It would cost me too much to fight this and it appears that I am fighting a losing battle.

I pray that the Lord will convict the hearts and minds of these people so that they can stop hurting His children in this and other manners. I don't see how they sleep at night with this behavior but evidently, they have suffered somewhere in their life so now they want to cause others to suffer (hurting people hurt others). I pray that they receive the peace that they need so that they can help and not hurt anyone further.
