I bought a light bulb from a company online and was excited because they advertised a two yr warranty with it. We have to buy a bulb for this big screen projection tv about every two yrs and they cost around two hundred dollars, so the idea that this one came with a two yr guarantee was exciting. Anyway at the time I didn't evn know the warranty was not with the company I bought it from, I just got it and filed it away. Thirteen months later the bulb goes out. The tvs internal indicator came on and the bulb faded out a couple weeks later. I got out the warranty and discovered we bought it dec 2011 so I initiated a claim. The process was very easy over te phone and I got an email the next day. I was confused because the email asked me for a copy of my original purchase invoice even though the rep on the phone was able to pull up my information. I attempted for two days to upload the invoice with no luck, so I called back and talked to a nice man who said their uploading was down, so I asked if I could scan it and email it to him. He gave me the email address and I sent it. I then got two more emails. One giving me instructions on mailing my item into them at my expense, which I could understand, they recommend tracking and insurance and I sent it via UPS because I'm expecting a quick process. After all, my tv is down without the bulb. So then they have put yet another copy of the invoice in the box and another form. I follow all directions. Then I get to the email where they tell me that I have to either include a $20 ck in the box or click a link and pay it by credit card for shipping back to me. I think this is insane as I have never ever ever heard of any company charging you shipping for them to send you. New item on a warranty. I want my bulb so I can get back to watching my big screen so I comply and pay it online. I then wait and track the package, when they get it I call to find out what now? I am told its sent off to repair and that's it. I get an email that says 15 to 30 days depending on parts and such for repairs but I'm thinking its a light bulb what are they going to repair but I assume its a form email everyone gets. I then wait a few days and call to get my log in info so I can track my status without calling in, I get the info as it was never provided before and I check the status everyday and everyday it says sent off to repair and nothing else. Its a light bulb, we are not told if we get a replacement or the same bulb referbished. We get no info. I paid 57 for the warrenty and have now spent 40 in shipping on an item I have yet to receive. I'm starting to wonder if we are going to get a new bulb or not.
