I recieved an unsolicited ''offer'' from the Consumer
Research Corporation for a FREE Digital Cannon Rebel camera in exchange for a consumer review of the product.

I went to their website and gave them confirming my e-mail and adding my mailing address for the sole purpose of recieveing the free camera offer for a Cannon Rebel.

There is no free offer for the above mentioned camera
without going through several ''tiers'' of product reviews most of wich require you to buy products negating the ''free offer''.

The very next day I started averaging 10 or more spam e-
mails a day which means not only did they fail to fulfill their offer but they obtained my private information under false pretenses and sold it without my consent.

This is 100% false advertising that is inexusable.

My BBB complaint did generate a response from a Mr John Frick (General Council - Lawyer) for the Company. He offered me a $20 gist certificate for Best Buy to drop the complaint and I said no I want the camera and my name off the list.

The BBB could do nothing except to say that CRC fulfilled its BBB obligation to mediate the matter.

If you would like to flood Mr John Frick with your own complaints or sign him up for his own medicine his address is posted above and again here john@subscriberbase.com

I have also filed a complaint with the Federal Communication Commission and encourage ALL of you to do the same!

These people will not stop until they are forced to live up to their offers and give the stuff awy that they promised to.

I have read a number of complaints after my last update but I see no indication any one has taken action other than posting here!

1. Please, Please, Please read my suggested actions above to;
Contact the government using contact link posted above. They will only take action if they get enough complaints they are looking at numbers here.

2. Flood their office with spam the e-mail address is listed above. For every free offer you get from product test panel or its associates sign Mr John Frick up for his own spam!

Lets act...I want to see this on the headlines people!

Federal Trade Comission responds

AUTHOR: J. scott - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 04, 2004

Okay people there are 37 seperate complaints listed here as of today.

The Federal Trade Comission has responded and it takes numbers to make this happen.

I have posted the links above and the Feds have a file on this company to start counting the numbers.

LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN! If you have come this far lets get something done about this!

Only legislation, serious fines and/or forcing this company to provide everyone they tricked with the promised treat will change their behavior.

LETS ROLL and rock their world!

Help report the CRC to the Federal Trade Commission

AUTHOR: J. scott - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 31, 2004

1. I have filed a complaint on the CRC with the Federal trade Commission. Please take the time to do so also if you have also been ripped off by this despicable company. Here is a direct link to the file a complaint page https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01
We will only get results with adequate numbers of complaints.

2. Sign this comany's laywer up for every piece of e-mail spam, CRC, Procuct Test Panel you get and any other appropiate things you see fit to send his way.
I am coming to the conclusion the only way to fix my spam problem is to change my e-mail address. Once you get your address sold to the spamers you will never get it off until the government steps in.
I think CRC needs to "feel our pain".

You can e-mail John Frick at john@subscriberbase.com
use the companies own address if your spam offers request a mailing address.
