Continental Airlines Embarrassment on flight Houston, Texas

On January 23, 2011 my wife & I flew back from San Jose Costa Rica on Flt #1447 in first class. As the passenger in front of us was putting his bag into the overhead container his bag struck an incoming passenger. Without apologizing he was about to sit back down when the struck passenger made a remark. Both men started staring each other down until the struck passenger said,"forget about it man, I was only kidding!"He then continued to the back of the plane to his seat. The flight attendant who watched this told the first class passenger that she would take care of it. She told the captain about it and had the rear seated passenger removed from the plane. She bragged to the other flight attendants and the first class passenger that she "showed him" and laughed! She claimed that the man was drunk,however he showed absolutely no signs of being under the influence of anything.

This was the worst case of "Female Machismo" that we have witnessed. The flight attendant appeared to be trying to impress the first class passenger. I strongly suspect that if the first class passenger had apologized for striking him with his luggage in the beginning, that the whole incident would not have happened!A major abuse of authority!!

Notifying the CEO of Continental of the incident was a wasted effort since he has not responded to us as of the date of this letter. Major corporate arrogance again. Passengers beware!!!
