I missed the first few clues of this scam. Thank you to the United States Postal Service that must have some information on these people, otherwide, why would they stamp it "fraud"

I logged into a website, looking for mystery shopper work.

This company is Contintental Evaluation Services. They took #ss number, my bank account number, and my home address, claiming that they were going to direct deposit payments for my pay. On the emails, they told me I was going to go to a Walmart and evaluate their money Gram

I got a letter from them a week later, with a cover letter and these logos on it: pepsi, blockbuster,Harveys, the Bay, GAP, Avis, Western Union, McDonald's, Piza,Pizza and Starbucks Coffee. It also included a weekly time schedule sheet and a customer satisfaction evaluation form. They included a check for $990.00, telling me to cash it and mail to an alleged relative in Irvine, Alberta, Canada for $870.00, the difference of $100.00 for me plus service charge of $20.00 for moneygram.

I only began to get suspicious when I noted that the the envelope had no return address. Who would send a check like this? Also, it was postmarked with a stamp that said Canada 95 cents, and a postal code on top of it that said fraud-Prevent it,La fraude-Prevenevez. I did not recognize this address, and the check had a different address for the maker: Continental Inc., 32 E. Watling, East Chicago, IN 46312, drwan on a check from JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A Syracuse, NY 13202, with routing number 021309434 Account number 615 501532, Check # 10613

The address inside on the cover letter is 27106 Young St., Richmond Hill, ON L4E 1A1 T+1(905)-598-1607 F+1(801)-912-4311 website www.continentalevaluation.com RepID# C.S.E 107

I checked the routing numbers and I called the bank. They siad they were aware of these checks and that I should go to the post office and file a mail fraud report.

On several occasions I have used your webiste and it has saved me a lot of aggravation. I hope this alert will help others before they get scammed.

You Need to Close Down Your Bank Account

AUTHOR: Sara - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 02, 2009

Since you so kindly gave them all of your personal information, I would strongly suggest that you close down your bank account and open a new one. They will be using that information to make counterfeit checks and spread those around. Also, get an alert put on all of the credit bureau's to try and stop them from opening credit in your name.

Always ask yourself "Does this make sense?" when dealing with internet job offers. Why would you get paid before you even start work and why would they need to you send money back to them?
