I was called from a Time Share resale co. directly at work and also on my cell phone from an InterNet inquiry. We own our timeshare outright in Las Vegas and the represetative from Copeland Marketing assured us that the good price we had paid for it would easily turn us into a double the cost profit. We own it outright and it cost us around $8,500 about 10 years ago. We are current with our homeowners dues.

The representative from Copeland spend about 10 minutes doing some validationa and searches and came up with a current market value of about double what we paid - $16,000 worth of value today.

I then paid them $300 to list it with them, via credit card. It has been easily 6 months and have never recieved any call back, no mail, nothing except my payment was recieved by them. They also wanted another $300 to sell outright for us our 2 weeks of lodging accured this year, but I refused that option. So we are out $300 and over 6 months of waiting and hoping for a possible sale. I have called them on numerous occasions but have had no succes with reaching the same salesman nor any sale, but yes, we are actively registered with Copeland and our property file is indeed still active with them.

I demand a full refund or better yet would participate in any class action lawsuit available, after reading about numerous similar cases filed with you and the bad business bureau.

Sincerely,

David

You are a malicious individual. Why have you deicated your life to posting slanderous lies about Copeland Marketing? The number of complaints as apposed to the number of clients does not indicate that CMC is not providing a valuable service to consumers. We have many happy clients, however, since we are a marketing company and not a real estate broker, we are not involved in any closing procedures. I wil state again that your criminal acts will not be overlooked. Stop harrassing our clients. Do you realise that we speak with every client on your "list" . People are furious that you are sending their personal (stolen) information to the general public. I believe I'll be seeing you soon.

Copeland Marketing is not an real estate agency or broker. We are an advertising & marketing company that assist's buyers and sellers of timeshare and campground memeberships. In essence, we put buyer's and seller's together. This same "buy owner" technique has quickly become one of traditional realestate and timeshares most sucessful resale methods.
***KNOW the Facts***

Copeland advertises on-behalf of seller's in a multitude of different print media... such as Travel & Leasure, READ Magazine, and Backstage Pass. Local print media during special events would include the News Journal and Central FL Pennysaver.

Copeland's retail booth advertises discounted vacation properties on behalf of our our sellers. Our retail booth can be located at the Daytona Beach Flea & Outlet market. (D.B. Flea Market features acres upon acres of retail shopping, hosting 100,000's of consumers yearly.

Copeland Marketing Corporation Daytona FL. Update

AUTHOR: Vicky - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, August 05, 2006

This is an update to the previous post regarding Copeland Marketing Corporation in Daytona Beach FL.

1) From the above post I wrote:

The BBB has requested that your company provide substantiation that individual properties are promoted or advertised and that any offers to purchase were accepted as a result of your marketing program. They are currently awaiting your company's reply.
After a year this has been officially updated at the official BBB Website.

orlando.bbb.org/newsearch2.asp?ComID=07330024000691

It now says,

"The BBB requested that the company provide substantiation that individual properties are promoted or advertised and that any offers to purchase were accepted as a result of their marketing program. We have not received a response to our request".

Yet, Sara, in New Smyrna Beach says that her Timeshare was sold! So there's a record of that, right? Then why have not the owners of Copeland Marketing Corporation, located at 1468 W. International speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, Fl, 1-800-269-0143, responded to the Better Business Bureau's simple request:

"That the company provides substantiation that individual properties are promoted or advertised and that any offers to purchase were accepted as a result of their marketing program"?

I should think that if Copeland Marketing Corp. sold Sara's, or any one else's Timeshare, that they would be the first to show the title transfer to the BBB and improve on their ridiculous report! It is also interesting to note that the Resale Marketing Manager, "Diane", promised many more testimonials from "happy clients".

Interestingly enough the number of complaints against Copeland Marketing Corporation, CMC, have also risen quite incredibly. The new report shows as follows...

Number of complaints processed by the BBB over the last 36 months: 202
Number of complaints processed by the BBB in the last 12 months: 176, as of today August 5th 2006.

To the owners of CMC, a simple question?
How do you explain hundreds of complaints to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General?

To the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General of Florida: You cannot disregard the fact that so many people are willing to come forth and admit to being ripped off by Copeland Marketing Corporation, that so many people would complain to the Better Business Bureau and declare that they were lied to and scammed out of their money!

You cannot disregard all of the Rip-Off reports at this website, or the fact that Copeland Marketing Corporation, owned and operated by Jason Lunt and Andrea Demarco Lunt, has absolutely no public records at all of any Timeshares ever being sold whatsoever, especially during the years from 2002-2005! There is no legitimate title agency, exchange company (RCI - Interval International - or any others) that can show any proof whatsoever of a sale or rental ever being made! What I Write here is the truth and fact, so help me God!

Sincerely,

Vicky

RE: Know the facts

I agree---- "Know the facts!"

The Facts...

#1) Yes I have been in your beautiful showroom.
I used to work there everyday!
There have never been any
presentations conducted there ever! Like your website, your showroom is for outward appearances only.

#2) Any Positive testimonial posted by you is fabricated by you and it is now obvious to everyone, not just myself, that Sara in New Smyrna is also fictitious and posted by you. Thank you for that! I have also been witness to, and been asked for my personal input to help fabricate testimonials during my employment at Copeland Marketing.

#3) There is not a single public record of any sales or rentals made by Copeland Marketing, nor is there any title agency that can provide proof that you ever sold any timeshares whatsoever!

#4) The BBB has requested that your company provide substantiation that individual properties are promoted or advertised and that any offers to purchase were accepted as a result of your marketing program. They are currently awaiting your company's reply.

AFTER A YEAR, THEY ARE STILL WAITING DIANE!
Number of complaints processed by the BBB over the last 36 months: 173
Number of complaints processed by the BBB in the last 12 months: 149

#5) Since I am an ex-employee of your company, not only am I educated, but I have detailed knowledge as to the workings of your corporation.
Let me sum it up for you and everyone else here.

-----Copeland Marketing Corporation solicits timeshare owners who would like to sell or rent their timeshares. Copeland Marketing Corporation tells them that their timeshare will be presented to vacationers in the Daytona beach area on a "face to face" basis by luring them to your showroom with incentive gifts which are bought with the up-front deposit or processing fee. No presentations are made at Copeland Marketing Corporation!

That person is then listed in your company's computers, located at 1468 W. International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114, and never contacted again by your company.
When the customer calls you to find out what's happening, they cannot speak to the telemarketer who promised them that they (the telemarketer), would personally sell their timeshare.

The victim is instead routed to customer service where more lies are perpetuated upon them...
They are told that their salesperson is currently out doing presentations, or that the salesperson is just a listing agent, or they (the customers) are disconnected altogether!

In some instances, when your company sees who is calling on the caller ID, your company will simply not pick up the phone, let that customer go to the answering service, and then erase the message without calling them back!

The up front money that the person has trustingly given you is charged to their credit card, debit, or checking account immediately, within minutes after the fraudulent phone call and before the customer even gets to look at the contract, let alone sign it. This all by itself is a violation of the law. The customer will never speak to their sales agent again...

How is that for being educated as to the workings of your corporation? Pretty accurate eh?

#6) You now have 15 entries here at the rip-off report, and like your report at the BBB, it increases on a daily basis. There are also other forums on the internet with numerous complaints regarding Copeland Marketing Corporation.

#7) Post as many positive testimonials as you wish! There is not a single person that can or ever will come forward to substantiate them. I really doubt, especially in light of the fact that you have admitted that you are the one that is posting them, not the actual customer, that anyone visiting this website will believe you.

#8) I have physical proof, which I have made numerous copies of, and distributed in various locations, that what I am saying is true, and I would be happy to provide it to anyone that would like to see it! In addition I would testify, under oath, and I will prove that what I am alleging is 100% true.

#9) I am not being malicious, I simply state the facts and truth. You have already earned your reputation.

#10) Desparage is spelled like this... D-I-S-P-A-R-A-G-E.

Have you ever even visited Copeland marketing Corporation's offices? Why didn't you see the beautiful sales room where the presentations are conducted? Not only is the testimonial from Sara of New Smyrna, Florida true and correct, but because of your malicious attempt to desparage our corporation's reputation, we will now be posting positive testimonials from happy clients, so expect many more!

You are obviously uneducated as to the workings of our corporation.
