I just talked with the 800 number for Copeland Marketing. They ASSURE me that they had one offer but the purchaser credit was no good. They expect an offer this Sunday (8/05/06) and will call if the credit checks out.
This is after six months of them having my money ($500). After seeing all the unhappy people at this site I imagine I am also in the process of being ripped off. Anyone know how I can stop this?

Patricia...
Copeland Marketing is an advertising and marketing company that assist's buyers and sellers of timeshare just like yourself. Copeland is not a broker or realestate agency and cannot "sell" your vacation resort weeks. This is very clear in your listing agreement.
Copeland Marketing simply advertises in a multitude of print media and "in-house" presentations. When Copeland secures an offer, you must accept or decline. Copeland can assist in the recomendation of a title transfer agancy, but "you and the buyer" will be dealing directly with transfer agency at that point.
Have patience... THERE IS DEMAND for your type of vacation resort week!

Dear Patricia,
As an ex-employee I can assure you and everyone else that there has never been any effort whatsoever to sell your timeshare on the part of (Copeland Marketing Corp."CMC"). There certainly was no "Face to Face" presentation of anything during my employment! Very recently, when all the complaints started coming in, they started advertising timeshares in the local "Penny Saver" magazine, and the local newspaper here in Daytona Beach FL. Seems that they were in such a hurry to cover their butts, they forgot to change the old address they used to have in South Daytona.
Copeland Marketing Corp has NEVER sold any timeshares at all for anyone! I challenge ANYONE at all to PROVE otherwise! Their website, their signs, their advertising is all entirely for looks only! The FACTS are as follows:
There is no title agency that can vouch for them! There is not a single public record of a timeshare ever being transferred by CMC. I can tell you that during the term of my employment, there were never any so called "Face to Face" presentations of your timeshare or any one else's by Copeland Marketing! They have almost 200 complaints listed at the BBB website.
If the authorities would only do their jobs and call some of these people, which they certainly can, closure in this matter would come quickly.
Every single person would tell them just about the same story....
They were called by Copeland Marketing Corp to sell their timeshare.
They were told their timeshare would be presented on a "Face to Face" basis with vacationing tourists in the area. The contract that they signed indicated that as well.
Their credit card, was charged right after the phone call, before they even returned the signed erroneous contract.
They cannot reach the sales agent who promised them that they would personally handle the sale of their timeshare. Instead they are routed to customer service where they get the "run-around"
After they gave their credit card info, they never received a single call again from Copeland Marketing! The only contact is when the victim initiates the call.
Patricia, what I would do if I were you, since there is now an active investigation by the FL Attorney General is to write to him at the following address. Send your letter to the attention of the agent in charge of the investigation. Be really specific and tell the truth. Talk about the details of your phone conversation with CMC and the promises that they made to you. Then send to:
Economic Crimes Division Office of the Attorney General
ATTENTION Ms. Angelia Sheridan CASE# L06-3-1086
135 W. Central Blvd., Suite 1000
Orlando, FL 32801
I advise anyone else that visits this forum, and feels that they were ripped off by CMC, to do the same.
