I have a court ordered judgment against William Billy Parks for sub-contracted work I did for him after Superstorm Sandy for ladder assist work.

District Court of Maryland Washington County
Civil Case # 1102-0000968-2013

Since the judgement was ordered he has changed his business address and did not leave a forwarding address to avoid paying me the court ordered judgment. He owes me $2,350.50 plus interest for the judgment ordered against him on 8/2/13. He is still operating this business even though he has not paid his court ordered obligations.

He was paid by the insurance companies for the work I completed for him, yet refuses to pay me even after he has been court ordered to do so. I would never trust to work for or give work to his company ever again.

I got ripped off

AUTHOR: Cornerstone Ladder Assist - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, October 25, 2015

Mr Jeff Searls worked for me as a subcontractor during Sandy.   He came with two other guys from NC.  At Thanksgiving time he told me he and the other 2 guys he bought with him. Before they were to leave I met with all three of them. We came to an agreement on what they would be paid. As I did not have enough to pay them in full. All said they were happy As I had always kept my word. I wrote all 3 of them checks. Everyone was in agreement about leaving and when to come back. As far as I was concerned everything was ok. I left town and I assumed they left as well.  Much to my surprise that is not what happened. Mr Searls decided that he and his helper would stay and work. Mr Searls called my clients, told them he was not getting paid for the work they had done for me. Nothing could have been further from the truth. As a mater of fact I borrowed money to pay them befor the holiday. Immediately my clients started taking back jobs they had sent me.  Mariposa took 27 back.  Not to mention the other clients.  Basically he bad mouthed me so he could steal my work while I was out of town with my family for the holiday.

I never did receive anymore work from Maraposa. It took me a year to get in the door with them. Mr Searls erased all that effort with one phone call and one lie.

I had filed a counter suit against him for this as I could prove he lied. Unfortunately, I was in Florida when the court date in MD came to be.  I couldn't make it to Maryland so Mr Sears was awarded a judgement by default.

By the way the other 2 guys were paid in full And are happy. We still stay in touch to this day. I didn't feel Mr Sears deserved any of his money.  He hurt our reputation bad And cost the company a significant amount of money.

I believe Mr Searls actions were totally driven by greed.

Pay what you owe by court order

AUTHOR: Jeff - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, July 22, 2014

This is the last time I will respond to any of his "rebuttals" as I have spent more time and money trying to collect what is rightfully owed to me than I should have.

The facts are- He has a unpaid judement against him for the work I completed and he was paid on.  He has not filled out court ordered paperwork so that I may discover his assets so that I could collect on this judgement.  He countersued me but never showed up for the hearing so of course the judge threw out his countersuit.

We all quit working for him for not being paid on time.  The first time he came up, I was not paid in full, along with the other guys.  The one guys check bounced.  We gave him a chance on this being the first week.  After the second week with pay isssues, we all quit.  The judgment amount he owes me does not include the hotel he says he paid for.  He initally paid for it but the amount owed to me is without the hotel room.  Maybe if he would of went to court he would of realized this.

We all did go home for Thanksgiving.  Upon return we had still not been paid for the week leading up to Thanksgiving.  Only a fool would continue to work without pay.

He also removed his Google business listing after I rated his business poorly and posted the truth on it stating what he owes me by court order.

He says he can't justify paying me.  I guess he must know better than what the judge has ordered him to do.

The other side of the story

AUTHOR: bparks56 - ()

POSTED: Friday, July 04, 2014

Good day all,

This is william"Billy"Parks. Mr Searls did do work for me during the Sandy aftermath.  Mr Searls came uop from the Carolinas with 2 other gentlemen.  Everything waas going great until Thanksgiving.  Mr. Searls and his 2 buddies were going home for a couple of days.  I said, "no problem"  Gave them each a check.   It was not for the full amount owed. All three guys took the money and were happy.

All 4 of us had discussed how the pay would work from the onset.  I personally drove up to N NJ(Ft. Lee) paid for the guys rooms.  We also had a meeting about our plan of attack.  Also we discussed pay.  I told them all that I was not a big company and that I had limited capital.

Here is the kicker, Mr Searls lied to me and said he was going home too. What he really did was stay right there in NJ.  He commensed to call a handful of clients. One company pulled 27 jobs from me immediatly. There were also others that pulled jobs as well.  Needless to say, I have not been assigned any inspections from these clients since then.

Both of the other guys got paid in full. I had answered Mr Searls legal complaint with a counter suite for $30,000 even though I believe he cost me more than that. I'm sorry but I can't justify paying Mr Searls.

I am open to all comments on thhis.  What would you as an owner do?  Im very interested in your thoughts.

Sincerely,

William"Billy"Parks

PS. By the way, I am not hiding either!
