AscendTech, Inc. "Val" Employee #6306 MISLEADING AND FALSE ADVERTISING ON REFURBISHED ITEMS ARRIVE BROKEN AND MAKE YOU PAY TO SHIP BACK. Willoughby Ohio

I purchased 5 monitors from Ascendtech. I tried to use the PayPal checkout on their site and it kept giving errors so I bought the same item they had listed on an eBay auction.

When they arrived, 2 of the 5 monitors were giving glitchez in the video or would go black with no image. The items were all visibly either used or refurbished. There was absolutely no specification of the item being refurbished or used on their site or auction. I can get over that, but the thing that made my blood boil was them telling me that I had to pay to ship back the 2 DOA monitors.

They write the following words in their auction (number 230233620373) "we guarantee that our product will NOT be dead on arrival."

The also specify after that that return shipping is the customer's responsiblity, bla, bla. But this is right after saying they guarantee of no DOA.

Anyway, I can get a refund from them if i :

1. Lose the 60 dollars I paid to ship them to me.
2. Lose teh 50 dollars it would take to ship them back.
3. They will then charge a 20% "cancellation fee" so i lose another 80 dollars.

Total loss -- 190 dollars. Price of each monitor 199 dollars. 50% rip off. i pay 200 dollars for a lot of hassle.

They very gratiously, after a 30 minute heated arguement, finally said they would waive the 20% fee. Only because I called 3 times and got very upset with this "Val" who would not give his last name out but said his employee number was #6306.

Lastly, he basically blackmailed me not to leave him any negative feedback on eBay. He told me that I can "take the risk" of leaving feedback meaning I would get feedback negative too. I did my part. I paid immediately. How much better of a buy can you get.

Anyway, I wish there was something I could do about this, but my money is now down the drain....
