CAMCO called one evening asking to speak to Mr.X, well Mr.X is my husband's name so I gave the phone to him. Come to find out they had the wrong Mr.X, their middle initials did not match nor any of the previous or current addresses.
Well, CAMCO phoned back within minutes asking if this was Mr.X that lived @ (they listed off our current address). These people know what they are doing; they are GREAT SCAM ARTIST!! They claimed that we owed Citibank over $3000.00, and they would like to settle this account with us. At first we did not know what to do so we listened to their information and asked alot of questions about this account that was OVER 7 YEARS OLD. They had NO proof it was my husband's account. They tried to scare us with this will reflect poorly on your credit report. Why had this NEVER showen up on a credit report before?? We aked for documentation and they never sent anything.
We have received 2 settlement notices from them saying they will evaluate our credit history.What does that mean?? DO NOT PAY THEM A DIME!! We have researched this matter enough, even with CITIBANK to know we have never had such an account and we OWE NOTHING to these CONS!!
If this has happened to you DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY!! Send them a certified letter demanding documentation of its legitimacy.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Same name other than the middle initial was different. But to these assbags, it doesn't matter. Hell, just about all of these illiterate scumbags can't read and write, just preview some of their posts here. It's almost comical. Cowards hiding behind a phone that need to be working a drive-thru somewhere. You guys are not alone, there are many others who have been contacted by these idiots. Just don't pay them a d**n dime.
