I signed up with Cosmetique for the $1 promotion. I understood that I would be charged every month for a package until I canceled the account. I was charged on July 26 and the 29th but both charges were refused by my online bank because there was not enough funds in my account to cover the charge. I was charged on July 4th in the amount of $24.90. I was charged again on July 6th in the amount of $24.90.

I called Cosmetique on July 7th to inquire about the 2nd charge and the girl I talked to said that her computer was not reflecting the 2nd charge. She gave me a fax and asked that I send in a copy of my online statement. I printed out the statement along with the transaction details and faxed them in today, July 14th.

I just recieved a phone call from a lady named Judy (she recieved my fax)and she argued that they did not take the second charge. She advised me to call the 1800 number and talk to someone else. So..I call and spoke to a lady named Melanie. I explained to her the situation and she put me through to the supervisor Colleen.

Colleen was given the fax that I sent in and I went step by step with her through my bank statement and she refused to admit where there was a second charge. Now remember she has the statement right in front of her. I asked her to add and subtract along with me so I could show her where I was in fact debited twice. We went over the detailed transaction pages I also faxed in. She stated that she had spoke with her bank and they have bo record of a second transaction from my account.

She stated that even though she had a copy of my bank statement in front of her, her bank and her computer do not show the second debit. She said that she will not refund the second charge because according to their records I was lying! She said to have my bank call her and I asked would she refund then and she said absolutely not.

So I called my online bank and spoke with a lady there and I asked her to go through my statement with me and make sure I was reading it correctly. She agreed that I was charged and debited on July 4th and July 6th. She advised me to open a dispute (which I did and she walked me through it).

Bottom line and my purpose for posting this is..even though Cosmetique had my statement in front of them that showed the double charge...I was called a liar and they refused to even work with me or try to explain why my statement showed the double charge. Maybe I can save someone else a headache by posting my experience.
