My wife recently broke down on her way to Florida and had to have our Honda Mini-Van towed over 300 miles home. The problem we were told my a mechanic was the transmission. Since we had used Cottman about 10 months ago for a full transmission rebuild (spent over $2300.00) we decided to have it towed to Cottman Transmission on Peachtree Industrial, Duluth, GA.
The auto technician "Robbie" or "Rob" asked for our receipt and warranty from the last time we brought the car in. Unfortunately, we initially could not find it and he said he did not keep records of past bills and auto work (this was less than a year ago that it was worked on by them). I was shocked that they kept no records of previous service with their own store! Robbie refused to to anything to help us until we found our receipt. I called and e-mailed the central customer service department with Cottman and they would not return my calls or e-mails. I then tried to reach the owner "Linda" of the store and she would not call me back.

With no one else to talk to, we visited Robbie and showed him a credit statment that showed payment of services to them less than a year ago and mileage from another auto repair store to prove our car was still under warranty - he would not accept it.

Finally, my wife was fortunately able to find the original receipt and we brought it to the store - this was 2 weeks after they had our car and Robbie could not tell us what happend to the transmission or how much it was going to be.

After waiting 4 more days, we contacted Robbie again and he said it was not the transmission that caused the problem - the car over-heated, the shifter cable melted and we would have to pay $700.00 to get it fixed. I guess the warranty we had after all this was worthless. After renting a car and being without it for 3 weeks we were at the total mercy of the store. We paid the bill and finally got our car out of there.

I have never in my life had such bad service from a company. I don't think the company could care less about how it treats its current or previous customers. I will also sumit a complaint to the BBB.

I was very happy to say, Cottman assisted me with 100% with the final resolution of this matter. The owner was very kind and helped me through the resolution of our problem. I would do business again with Cottman.
