the experience from the start has been bad with cottmans. i was flip flopping between there company and another local transmission shop. i went with cottmans transmission because they were supposedly going to match the other price, year warranty and they were going to offer me a  payment plan. thats what they had told me. so i took the car to them. that was a huge mistake.

so, im going to make a long story shrt. the competitors price was quoted 2500.00 worst case scenario with and them not seeing it yet.and i told cottmans that. they came down from there original price of 3200.00 to 2500 which should have been a sign right there. and also told me it'd take 3-5 days. well first they had told me they had found the problem thru a test drive, then they said they found the problem by hooking up the sanner to it when i asked how could they be sure from a test drive.

they tell me at first my transmission is shot. i supposedly need a new one. then a couple days later i ask for the parts list that they needed to order for my car they tell me a shift fork (200.00) and rebuild two gears (500.00 a piece) because apparently they cant just get the synchronizer from there manufacturer.

 and at 650.00 labor for the job.. that doesnt equal anywhere close to 2500 let alone the 3200 they told me it'd be at first and on top of that theyre making me purchse 3 parts outside of the price that they quoted me. i couldnt get ahold of the parts so the cost is now at almost 3000 again.

 i decide i want out of it. i want the other service. so then they start coming up with numbers on what theyve done. like the days its taken up space, the cost they charged because they already pulled it and all kinds of B.S. i didnt have the money for all that so unfortunately i let them keep it. well, a week had gone by. i went and asked if they had ordered the parts, they said no we havent becuase we were afraid of how you were going to come up with the money like they had any right to assume i coiuldnt come up with the money being

anyways its now been a week and a half. im aggravated with this place. parts still arent ordered. i need to get to work. its been nothing but a hassle for my ride thats been taking me to work and myself. ive spent well over what i should have just in the gas i have had to pay for my ride. Am looking into legal recourse, if anyone has any knowledge of any please let me know.
