County Concrete And Construction Formerly County Concrete, Terri Marozzi, Paul Fletcher, Vinod Mehta ripoff Failed ALL Inspections, Refuse to Correct Problems and Damage, Has NO Workers Comp Ins, Left My Driveway Half Done, Won't Cooperate with City Inspectors Davie Florida

I contracted with County Contraction and Construction on June 18, 2003, to remove my old asphalt driveway, and replace it with concrete.

Paul Fletcher signed all the paperwork, and the cost was to be $3,187.00. Half of this amount was required as deposit.

On August 13, 2003 they came and dug out the asphalt. While doing the work with the bobcat, they broke away and removed about a 6' section of the sidewalk. They also dug up, and tossed off to the side, my survey marker and the concrete it was set in. Paul insisted this was "not a problem. It doesn't need to be there anyway. Surveys are done from the marks in the street."

On August 18, 2003 the company failed the first inspection by the City, as the framing was not done as drawn in the plans for which the permit was issued. They immediately changed the frame, but never called for a new inspection.

The surveyer came on August 20th, and set a new marker, which cost $100, and County Concrete refused any responsibility for.

On the morning of August 21, 2003, I came home and found half of the pour was done. But still no inspection. Paul was there to insist, against my wishes and better judgement, that he had to collect a check for the balance due, or he would stop the pour. The finished job is sloppy and lumpy, my new garage door has concrete splatters all over it, and there are huge hunks of concrete and alsphalt everywhere. Their version of "clean up" is to push sand all over everything. And by August 23rd, a crack had appeared completely across the brand new front walk.

They refused to call for a final inspection, so I called. They failed. To say the City is angry is an understatement. The street is falling apart and the sidewalk is ruined, and all that is city property.

On October 8th, County Concrete came back, removed the concrete from the swale, removed half of the front walk to my door, and strung around caution tape.

The City Building and Engineering departments have found that County Concrete and Construction has no Workers' Comp insurance, as required by Florida law, and the "Qualifier" has never been to the job site, again a violation of state law. County Concrete and Construction does not have a license of their own; they use the General Contractor license of one Vinod R Mehta aka the qualifier. Terri Marozzi, the owner, and Paul E Fletcher, her "boyfriend" refuse to speak to me, they lie when they do talk to you, she is nasty, and has been rude and nasty to the inspectors.

As of now, this company is not permitted to do any work in Pompano Beach, they are being stopped from working in the cities of Sunrise and Davie, and the inspector told me they are contacting every city in the area. A complaint has been filed with the state by Broward County, and they are being investigated by the Department of Insurance Compliance.

Ha... all this because they figured I was just another dumb blonde they could walk all over. I tried to warn them that they needed to come back and take care of this stuff, but they just didn't want to listen! Their nasty secretary, Lena, said, "Call whoever you want," and hung up on me. So, I did. And look what's happened!
