I received a letter from Courtesy Nissan signed by C.J. Turner the General Manager inviting me to an invitation only "Inventory Buy-Back Event." In the letter I was instructed to call an Instant Cash Hot-Line at 866-575-9656 to enter my reservation number and see if I had won up to $4,500.00 Cash.

When I called that number a representative came on the line and asked me for my personal Pin Code and not the resservation number. That person told me that I had indeed WON some money but I had to come in to claim it.

The letter also stated that by bringing in the admittance letter and as soon as I test drove a new or used vehicle I would receive a $250.00 gift certificate to one of the following: WalMart, Target, HomeDepot, NASCAR Racing Store, SAM's Club and Kroger.

I went to the show room and test drove a new Frontier Crew Cab truck. I had been pre-approved to purchase a new Nissan vehicle with my trade in as long as it didn't exceed a monthly payment of $560.00 per month.

They insisted to give me the run around - and play games with me while I was there. They were aware of my approval based on an approval code that Nissan Financing had given them previously.

I asked for the General Manager. At which point I was told by one of the sales managers that he was very busy and didn't have time to see me.

After a discussion with this sales manager - I insisted on speaking with the GM and the sales manager then told me, "Let's see if we can find him." This was amazingly incredible and wasted more of my time.

I ended up waiting for more than 45 minutes while they were busy looking for him. They kept saying, "We are still looking for him."

After going through this BS I ended up deciding not wanting to buy a vehicle from this Nissan dealership. I then asked for my $250.00 gift certificate for having test drove a vehicle.

They said, "No problem and let me get it for you." They came back with instead a Premium Redeption Card (in the form of an unstamped post card) addressed to IPD at 410 Ware Blvd. Ste. 1031 in Tampa Florida.

Where is my $250.00 GIFT CARD? They advised me that that after mailing the Redemption post card I would be sent the Gift card from IPD in Tampa Florida.

Before leaving the dealership I went by the receptionist to see if they had been able to find the GM and then decided to make an appointment to see CJ TUrner in person. He called me at home the same evening and we made an appointment to see him on the following Monday morning at 10:00 a.m.

I brought up the issue surrounding the issues around the $250.00 gift certificate. He then said he had not mailed the offer letter to any customer eventhough his signature appears on the letter.

He apologized and offered to call me back within the hour to see about buying a new vehicle. Which he NEVER did.

Within 10 days I received in the mail a mailing with a $250.00 gift certificate I could redeem at a store called "Select Your Gift.com" which is not the NASCAR Racing Store mentioned in the letter. In fact the mailing advised me no to go on a search engine and to log in instead to their web site at selectyourgift.com.

I have been a long time and loyal Nissan customer. I have never been treated in this manner by Nissan before and or another dealership. I have been LIED, MISLEAD and was the victim of a BAIT & SWITCH.

Hopefully this can alert Nissan's leadership of this incredibly tainted and deceptive marketing practice. It will NEVER go back to Courtesy Nissan's dealership in Richardson, Texas.

I am seeking justice and ask anyone that had the same experience with this surrounding their $250.00 Gift Card offer letter to please contact me.

I pray to the Lord that justice is served.

Courtesy Nissan denial is not truthful - here's why.

AUTHOR: Frederick - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 31, 2009

Clarification to all potential customers reading about Courtesy Nissan's rebuttal:

Mr. Turner stated in his rebuttal that he never sent out the promotional piece. However; his comment is untruthful because I have a letter with his signature as well as addressed from Courtesy Nissan in Richardson. By CJ Turner's name and signature appearing on the letter, he can't deny that a "supposed" promotional company sent out an offer without his knowledge or that they have limited knowledge of such. If he wasn't going to stand behind it than he should have made sure that the promo offer was a legitimate one.

This proves that he lies - if anyone wants a faxed copy of this leeter I will make it available.

On the other topic of being upside down by 10K which also needs clarifying and is a dubious lie by Courtesy Nissan and CJ Turner. The letter I recieved stated, "Courtesy Nissan wants to buy back your current vehicle. This private event may save you an incredible amount of cash, more than you've ever saved on a new vehicle before. We need over 150 pre-owned vehicles to fill our quota. So our people have been AUTHORIZED to BUY BACK your current vehicle at ANY COST. This is an opportunity to GET MORE THAN MAXIMUM BOOK VALUE.

I have since gone to two more Nissan dealers i.e., W.O. Bankston Nissan of Dallas and Trophy Nissan to see what my trade-in value was worth to them - without any outrageous promises of great deals like CJ Turner and Courtesy Nissan were offering to try to get one into their dealership. They were both pretty much in the same neighborhood of my vehicle being upside down for aprox. 6K.

I let you be the judge. I don't know about you but where would you rather go?

Report #542629 against Courtesy Nissan

AUTHOR: Courtesy Nissan - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, December 26, 2009

From time to time letters are sent out on our stores behalf because we are a corporation and an entity of Nissan. Sometimes they might include a bonus or gift for the customer in which they handle from A to Z, the store has minimal information about it. Being that this was one of those letters, the gift card redemption must be completed and sent to the company handling the campaign. The letter was not sent out by CJ Turner or Courtesy Nissan so unfortunately it is out of our hands. We didn't use any tactics or mislead anyone, we handled Mr. Frederick like a customer who was interested in purchasing a vehicle as we are an automotive dealership, not a free gift promotional company. Mr. Frederick had over $10K in negative trade equity and that makes it very difficult to stay at a minimal payment.
