So originally I had a (((competitor's name redacted))) connection of 6Mb but was looking for faster download speeds. I heard about Cox and their 18Mb package. AWESOME! So order the top package, and wow at night I was lucky if I could get 13Mb on average I would be about 6Mb maybe 4Mb. During the day it is amazing I get 18Mb sometimes 20Mb. Kind of pointless though considering that I work downtown Phoenix during the day.

I call technical support and they treat you like an idiot. What they don't understand is I am an IT Manager and have been in the IT field for 14 years. So they tell me my modem signal is bad. Ok fare enough I'll let them work on it. They dispatch a technician the next day. He puts something on my modem and wow my speeds are at 16Mb to 20Mb, during the day. What they don't know is they where this way before the tech came out that morning.
I hold off on calling them for a couple months, do to being busy with family and work. This time the rude tech support kid says it's going to be a bad cabling issue. Funny, considering my house was re-cabled when I purchased it, but ok I add the $5 a month price to keep from getting hit with the $75 service call.

They dispatch another technician because the signal is bad on my modemagain. Hmmm. I told the technician that everything is fine during the day they are over subscribing their nodes and this reflected by the increase users being home at night. I get a response of Sr. We do not over subscribe our nodes. So next technician comes out and removes the thing off my modem, check the box outside the house, replaced a jack end. Goes to the Cox box a house away and replaces a jack end there and we check it again. Wait it's working!!! Ohh it always works during the weekdays.

Fact is Cox speed is marginally better than (((competitor's name redacted))) at Night and they are way more restrictive. Cox stop over subscribing your nodes and fix your stuff! Waiting for (((competitor's name redacted))) Fiber in my neighborhood, maybe I'll change cable companies too.
