I went to Coyne College in order to obtain my degree in Medical Assisting and also to obtain my CMA certification at first everything was going fine but then the problems began to arise once I graduated. I have been told that the school will not pay for my certification until I have gained emloyment, which has been a complete struggle due to the fact a lot of employers would not only like someone with experience but that is also CMA certified and that I am not. Then Coyne tells me that I can get help finding employment by going through their Career Service department and that I did and that process has been a nightmare in itself. At first I started out with one Career Service rep and she gave me some leads and I went out and applied for them and also let her know. I waited about a week and called to contact the rep again only to be told that she was not around and then I was given to another rep and his name was James and James gave me some more leads that were the same leads that I got from the first rep and then I was contacting him through e-mail and did not receive one response from him. So I went up to the school to talk to him and was then informed that he too was gone so then they sent me to a THIRD rep and by this time I have had it with this school. I mean I graduated with top honors and yet I am still struggling to find a job. So I am going to warn you against going to this school. And to be honest I am not the only graduate that is having this issue with the school.

Update to original report: Briana returned to Coyne College and met with Career Services staff. She obtained her certification and is now employed as a Certified Medical Assistant for one of the largest healthcare organizations in Chicago. We are glad she gave us an opportunity to provide satisfaction. Coyne College supports its graduates. Briana may return at any time for job placement assistance throughout her career.
