I usually don't do anything like this on the internet, but I just had to comment on CPS. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They call my job and leave messages with anyone there who answers the phone about my personal business. They called and told my employers they were sending someone down to repo my car. My company told them that they were not allowed to do that because if was on private property and and they would have the police come if they attempted to. I have been struggling to pay this carnote, but times have been very hard. I only owe about $2500 dollars and have been paying for the car for the last 6 years it seems. I tried to call and talk to these people, but the lady on the other line was so rude. I asked her why was she talking to me the way she was and she said ma'am we are a collection company and we don't have to be nice to you. I was so mad I could not even work my entire day at work. They will call my job and say they have an emergency call for me scaring me half to death because I have a teenage daughter. They call my family members house my dad, my aunts, and tell them things like I am not paying my bills and they need to contact me. Once they called and asked my 9 year old cousin if she could give them my address so they could come and repo my car. I will never ever reccommend this company to anyone. I don't know if the things they are doing are legal or not, but to me it seems to be crossing the line. They even send my personal information over the fax machine at work. It seems everyone there knows I am having financial problems. They call all the time. They have been asked by my supervisor not to call and contact me on my job, to call me at home, but that dosen't matter to them they continue to call my job. I am so tired of this company I will be so glad when I am done with this. Yes I would be glad to join in on a class action suit. I don't even care if I get anything, but this company needs to know that what they are doing is wrong. If they call your house or your employer and they say I am not available they should not question them. My relatives are afraid to answer due to all the questions they ask.

while i understand where you are coming from,
i have a simple resolution to this problem

cps is not going to call your job or your relatives if you set up some kind of secured arrangements with them. all you have to do is set up a check by phone for whatever day you will have the pmt- as long as it is reasonable and within the month you are due they never really have a problem with it. thats what i do. ive never had a probelm with them because i always call them and let them know my situation and they always work with me. you cant expect them to sit around waiting with their arms crossed for you to make ur pmt. especially if you are already two pmts behind....
