I have recently been down this road with this company. (Fontana,Ca.)

Plan on signing your name alot prior to being able to fully read every thing.

First off, if you plan on going with CRE to get the road time, dont get caught up worring about the school, they will give you all the answer's on the test for your permit, just study the answers and you will pass and get your permit.

Then every test you take from then on, they will give you the answer to the questions, hell they dont even read the question, they'll say 1.) is B, 2.) is A and so on, easy.

You will stand in line all day to do a practice skills in the yard, plan on having some good shoes, you will be standing all day, might get behind the wheel twice all day, depending how many people are in your class.

I've seen people get the brakes pulled on them from the instructor, while out on the road doing testing and were still passed.

If you fail your skills test's, they will pass you. been there have seen it.

Once you get your paper to take to the DMV to get your CDL, they will hand you a paper saying that now you are an "employee".

And you will be getting $ 430.00 a week while in training, only if you work for seven days that week will you get the full $ 430.00, not even federal min. wage.

Because if you have a trainer that is doing his job, he will have you driving 10-11 hours for seven days.

After you complete over the road training, you will go for your urgrade.

If you have no buisness experiance of opperating your own buisness then "DO NOT LEASE"

Break Down if you Lease:

They offer you .90 cpm

They take .7cpm for truck maint. fund

They take .12cpm broker fee

They take .1cpm for lease buy out fund

So now you only make .70cpm

Then you have a truck & insurance payment & permits and fuel.

They will take all the above out prior to you seeing anything.

Then if you have their bookkeeping taking care of your records u have to add those fee's

They say for the first couple of weeks they will not charge you for the truck payments, not true, have it in writing in the contract. Make sure they include a min of how many miles you will be given, remember, Horizon Leaseing is still CRE, they own that company. do the math prior to signing.

When you get your truck, you better go through it with a fine tooth comb, remember you are leaseing this vehical, once you drive it off the lot it is yours, any repairs that might be needed is on you to pay for.

Prior to taking the truck, they will have you go to the maint. shop, here you will have to pay for your chains and any additional items, let me say this, if you have to chain up...just pull it over and park.

No frieght or the miles are worth it, but if your wanna of those super truckers more power to you.

For a company that has 1500+ vehicals that need to be recovered, were drivers have walked away from tells me something is wrong with CRE.

They had 9 roll overs last month, poor guys. but after 180 days of OTR you to can become a certified trainer, give me a break. This is why CRE has the highest unsafe rating out there.

DOT looks at CRE trucks pulling through closerr then everyone else.

Oh, I almost forgot, once you have completed your lease terms, dont look for any money back, they will claim all sort of repairs for the truck, plus if they can charge 18% interest to the driver, well guess what, Utah federal judge has also said the driver gets to charge 18% for there funds.

A friend that had passed through the Fontana school with me and we borth were at Utah for the upgrade, well he went with the lease, here's what he has made as of date.

First week take home $ 215.00 - But remember they said that they were not going to take the truck payment out this week - they did.

Second week take home $ 45.00 - But remember they said that they were not going to take the truck payment out this week - they did.  Has called his DM requesting for some miles.

Last week take home the same as prior week.

Boy, I was glad that when I was at the Utah yard I had gotten sick which put me into a weekend from completing my upgrades. Heared alot while I was there from other drivers.

Lucky for me I had alot of cash in my bank account, called a cab, went to the airport, got a new mustang and drove home back to ca.

I was talking to this kid in my room, who was under the impression that had he left, CRE was going to have home land security pick him up and then they would take his CDL. I was like WTF, they had this kid brain washed. I told him watch me, as I walked out the door.

Had gotten a call from my TM to come down stairs so to finish my upgrade, a week after I had already left,

Most, not saying all, but most trainers will trick trainees into getting there lof info, and drive on there log hours. Heared this over and over.

The ones that do get the miles are the trainer/IC's if you get a trainer that has'nt pissed off his DM.

Plus if your a trainer and a trainee puts your rig in the ditch, the company does nothing, you have to pay for it all. but the trainee is an employee of CRE. go figuire.

Happened to my trainer, he had his truck in the shop for 45 days for repairs, so now he's playing the catch up game. Some is is fault, for not requesting a loaner, but then he would be paying on two trucks.
