I have been with CR England for 7 months and like so many others, have been hit hard with their many lies and scams. One advantage I have, I thought is that I bought my truck from Freightliner and didn't get trapped into the lease program they push so hard onto new hire. During the first two months I thought highly of CR England. But then, I began to see England's true ways.

First occurred when my team driver and I didn't have any time left on our 70 to run a load and our dm got upset with us. As an independent contractor with CR England I am charged $1000.00 for any late loads. Because of this, I would not reply to the load assignment with a macro 22 - which is an agreement to take the load and the terms. This circumstance occurred twice.

Then we were asked to try their paperless log system on the qualcomm. We were told we would have to also keep paper logs because paperless at CR England was in experimental stages and not yet approved with DOT. When we were asked to see our logs by a DOT officer at a weigh station the officer told us that he could fine us for keeping both paperless and paper logs. He said that is keeping dual logs and it was illegal.

Because CR England's paperless log system wasn't yet approved by DOT we stopped and only kept paper logs in accordance with DOT. However, we continually got messages from England on the qualcomm asking why we stopped using the paperless logs. When we told them that DOT told us that it was illegal they still insisted that we keep both and still continued to send frequent messages over the qualcomm asking why we weren't keeping both.

After all this, logs began to claim violations that did not exist. Like so many other CR England drivers that I have spoken to, England's log department is forever missing driver's logs and hitting driver's with speeding violations.

After every completed trip we scan that trip's BOL, logs for that trip, and receipts. On nearly every trip, logs claims that they did not receive part or any of the logs. At one time they claimed they were missing a solid week of my logs even though I scanned them in. Yet the BOL and receipts were received.

So, I had England route me to the West Valley City Terminal and handed them the missing logs to make copies for their file and they cleared me of missing logs violation. Two weeks later they hit me for the third time with missing log violations for the same log dates that I had scanned and personally taken in to them.

Then I was suddenly getting hit with speeding violations. I always run below the posted speed limit, yet I am speeding according to England. When I asked to speak to Safety and Logs about these speeding violations I was told England allows owner operators to travel up to 70 mph if posted speed limit allows. (It wasn't mentioned, but I do know that speed is reduced by 10 mph on sharp curves, ramps and in inclement weather for commercial drivers.)

Yet, my speeding violations with England are 62 mph, 65, mph , 68 mph and 63 mph. Note that I not only keep an daily log, but when I complete each day I do the math to see what my mph is for that day ( I recommend all drivers to do the same). I have called to talk to logs department about this and on my first attempt the female I spoke with was very rude and did not let me complete my question.

In the middle of my question she hung the phone up. I then called safety and spoke with Marie whom wasn't exactly friendly either, but did listen and asked if I were an independent contractor. When I said yes she said cleared me of the speeding violations. I have since printed a copy of the log violations imposed on me by CR England and noticed that the 68 mph and the 65 mph had been settled. I have not been cleared from the other false speeding charges imposed on me.

I have kept all my paper logs from day one with CR England and will keep them forever. I recommend this too for any commercial driver with any company. ESPECIALLY CR ENGLAND !!!

 Gee wiz. I was literally just considering this company as a possible career change after a lifetime in the military. After reading these horror stories I will never step foot anywhere near "England". With that said, are there ANY OTHER COMPANIES that are worth a toss? I'm in Houston. Any suggestions? I need to know if there's a company out there that will train me and then treat me like a human after I graduate.. .I'll tell you, the dirty and rough conditions people complain about don't bother me as much as the stories about drivers not getting paid. Screw that. I'll go ballistic when people start trying to steal from me. Thanks.

C. R. England lies

Driver I am glad that you did not lease right from England, I too was driving for C.R. England at one time in 2011 and was terminated due to a minor accident in a TA parking lot, C.R. England love to push the new drivers with absolutely no experience into leasing equipment so they can line their already fat pockets with more of what should be paid to the drivers, without the drivers they would not have a business!!! I have personally known and/or talked to several drivers that were always "in the hole" with the leases because of all the deductions for payments, insurance, plates, etc. and they were only given short hauls and low mileage runs for weeks at a time, 1 I know only signed lease after being told several times that there were no "company" trucks available at the time, if want to go company would have to go home and wait until 1 came available and may be weeks if not months. I was in West Valley City, UT (Main Terminal and Corporate HQ) 2 days before and there were tons of trucks parked on the yard,  both lease and company rigs, granted some were probably being pulled from active service for various reason, but they make more $$$$ if a driver leases so a lot of them are being told "company trucks not available right now" so they will sign that lease and the England's get even more dollars to line their pockets with, the user that has posted "Mormon Mafia" (saw on another thread) on a post regarding this company has it right!  I am 100% sure that they get $$$ for every person that they put into 1 of their "Premier" (yeah right) Driving Schools even if they are later disqualified by the verification process, I went to the school in Cedar Hill, TX and was on the phone with West Valley City, UT and the on site people several times to complete verification and hiring process when it should have been done BEFORE I even got there, saw several that were "disqualified" even after going all the way through the school and in the orientation part of the process, and had to find their own way home when they should have never been invited to the school in the first place, it is all about a making numbers to the people that work in the office(s) and school(s) have quotas to meet and do so at the expense of drivers and students.  EASY FIX!! do the full verification & backgrounds BEFORE inviting applicant to ANY facility for school and\or orientation.  Yes I know there will always be some that are DQ for medical, drug\alcohol and\or physical agility exams first day they are there, but when the person fully discloses all the information it is a lot cheaper to do the full background, verification, running the MVR, etc BEFORE buying people all these bus tickets and having them give up jobs, homes, and what ever else they have and people will be less resentful that way also.  I would rather be told "NO we can not hire you because. then to get all the way to the facility then hear "Sorry we can not hire you after all because...... oh by the way we will take you back to the hotel (if applicable) and to greyhound after that you are on your own!  (rant off)

Stop Winy

Seem to me this is not a rip off report but a bunch of winy truck drivers. You are going to wine about logs please, what company does not know how to keep, read or even handle paper logs as well as electronic.  We do this everyday for a living. Can you imagine sitting there for 8 hours a day reviewing drivers logs all day long and then expect the person not to make errors?

What drivers want to know here is not about the stupid paper work that DOT makes everyone jump through, but more important matters like how they treat the drivers, how many miles verus sitting time, home time, pay is it accurate is it fair. Write about things that matter to the well being of others, not paper work.

   It is not uncommon to put your hours in a computer,trucking companies have been doing it for along time,so they know what to do with you.So when you get inspected just show them your log book and not the computer,the name of the game is CYA.But like I said,almost everyone knows what England is about.

Lucky for you

Lucky for you that you are not locked in with England because you didn't lease a truck from them.

I do have a word of advice though...

Pattern logging is very much frowned upon in the industry.  There is no way possible to "average" 68 mph for an 11 hour period.  Maybe once in a great while as I have done it before.  But only if you are one of those drivers that uses the plastic bottle to urinate into becuase you didn't want to stop.

The only other thing that I question is the fact that you said as a "team" you were out of hours.  This I find nearly impossible!

I drove team with my wife for 11 years and we never ran out of hours.  If you nkow how to run a log book there is no reason to run out of hours.

We averaged 7,500-8,000 miles per week and NEVER ran out of hours.

Also, whether you like it or not you have to follow their rules.  If they asked you to do electronic and paper logs....DO IT!  There is nothing illegal about it.  So quit crying about it.

I am not by any means taking up for England as I think they are a garbage company, but you all need to quit crying and making stupid excuses about why it didn't work out for you.

I was just about to go to cr england for training on the 25th of this month, not now. after reading all of this about cr , I will not be going. Some thing told me to look this company up on line. They were going to send me a bus ticket next week, thank god for this site. And i would like to thank the driver's out there for saving me form doing some thing that could have put me in jail for life. Life is too short to put up with bull s**t like this company give out to driver's that really want to do good in this world.

I personally just quit CR ENGLAND (the Morman mafia) myself,They were just a real pain in the a#$ !!! .they were taking 14 cpm (cents per mile)from every mile that i ran,so lets say that i was getting paid 90 cpm for a 500 mile run well take 14 cpm from that and that only leaves me making 76 cpm. Where the hell does that 14 cpm variable mileage go ???? IN CR ENGLANDS POCKET!!!!!! That really is a bunch of s%^#.Cr England is ripping off there I C drivers.They shove there lease down your throat from day one,and really get pissed if you do not lease with them.Because if you lease ,then you make them more money,and that makes a Morman really happy.Again i ask where the hell does that 14 c p m go?? can some one from England please tell me ????please feel free there England i want to know why i was being screwed? Let me please rip on my DM for a second.His favorite phrase was "I'll see what i can do " well what did he do to get me home to a family emergency?? not a d**n thing. I live in FL and was sent to OH, yea thanks for nothing sh&^ head!!!!!!!!!!!.Yes i am bitter,and will be for a long time towards England. do not work for CR ENGLAND!!!!!! they will hurt you ,and cause you much heart ache ....they are no good to work for .please heed my warnings,you will be sorry.and if any one from England reads this,and wants to contact me then please feel free to do so through this web site. and again England thanks for making my life a living hell!!!!!!

Boy, after reading all these negitave reports about CR has definatly changed my mind to go there...I would never want to work for that company now...

It would be like working for gangsters...Al Capones crew may have treated you better...

I wonder if CR England even reads these? They should...maybe someone should e mail them a link to this site?

Werner Ent and CR England seem to have the most negitave comments...

I wish new drivers and students would do more research before signing onto companies...that's the only way their unjust practices will catch up to them is if drivers just stop applying, and then cite the reasons why...

To many desperate drivers go to these companies...that gives the companies a sense of invincibility..cause they feel they have an endless pool of applicants...

Anyhow thanks for the report...all of has sure effected my future of not to go there...

You Need to take this information to the FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORATATION

This complaint need to go to the DOT and I would also contact my elected federal officials and tell them about it and maybe start something



Just an outline of what they are doing will suffice -- IRS knows how to investigate and what to look for once they have an idea of what they are dealing with.

Some of these trucking companies are pretty crooked. I used to be a security officer for a couple of them and I saw and heard some rather bad things. These companies are no longer in business...
