Our first time using professional movers was an experience I don't wish upon anyone. These worthless wastes of human life lied and misrepresented the company. It turns out the owner was just the same.

Nevermind the scratches on the walls of our new house, or our destroyed microwave which was promised to be replaced but never has been, or the mess they left at the apartment throwing important papers on the floor. They lied and misrepresented the job they did, and stole our money. They told my wife and me that they would only take cash, ironically because "crooks" took them last month for several thousands of dollars using credit cards and checks, which was our biggest mistake.

Trusting them to be "professional" movers, my wife and I were not there to monitor them at the old apartment. When I met them at the new house after they were "finished," they took $500 cash claiming the job took them 4.5 hours. Now, I've never hired movers before, but my doubts were confirmed afterwards how ridiculous that amount of time was for 3 guys for a small 2 bedroom apartment with very little heavy furniture to move (most of it being delivered from the store) and most of our things already boxed up.

Upon my return to the old apartment later, it turns out there was quite a bit still there (3-4 car loads), so it's absurd if they left so much behind that it took 4.5 hours. The most shocking discovery was when I opened my refrigerator to see a bitten salami stick and block of cheese thrown back in there carelessly, and a pitcher full of juice drunk, and some missing food (brisket, frozen microwavable food). It turns out the missing food, which they deny taking, was prepared and eaten on my dollar. The wrappers for the missing brisket and jalapeno poppers were found later hidden underneath the sink.

If not for my mistake of paying cash to these losers, I would've just disputed this with my credit card company. Instead, I've been dealing with a deceitful owner who has promised several times to replace our damaged microwave with a used one, which he denied at first ever happened, and still has not replaced. When I called back for the last time, he started yelling at me that I'm still "bugging him about this?!" and has admittedly been screening his calls.

When I confronted him about his employees stealing our food and eating it while on the clock, his movers denied ever taking anything. When I demanded at least a partial refund for their misrepresentation of the amount of time it took while they obviously took the time instead to cook and eat, he brushed me off and hung up on me and my wife.

Not only have our attempts to contact the owner, Carl, been futile, but he has been also ignored attempts by the Better Business Bureau, of whom they are supposedly a member of. We've heard horror stories from friends and families' experiences with moving companies, but this is reprehensible not only as a business, but as human beings.

I won't say we'll never use moving companies again, but we will definitely research who to use in the future. Most importantly, we will never use cash. My wife has contacted the BBB, a local troubleshooter on the radio/news, and is planning on contacting a civil attorney. But I am curious to know how you can make their lives hell (busted knee caps wouldn't be bad) and help us get a full refund plus the cost to replace our microwave.
