Credit First North America Firestone Late fee and finance charges scam Internet

I applied for a Firestone Credit Card on Dec 21, 2009 (Florida Mall store in Orlando, FL). When I received the first statement (Dec 29th), I mailed the check for the FULL amount 3 days before the due date of Jan 20, 2010. I recieved no statement in Jan, 2010. On Feb 25, 2010, I received a statement from Credit First saying my payment was late in January and charged me a $38 balance charge for Dec. as well as a $15 late fee for Jan. As a result, I was penalized for $53 in balance charges and late fees. Their customer service representative was extremely discourteous and unwilling to discuss any mitigation option.

I have a flawless credit history with a 800+ score and feel coerced to pay up to keep such scheming operators from tarnishing my credit file.This is exactly the kind of Credit Card Company "fee scams" that the Govt. is trying to legislate against. SHAME on Firestone for supplying a credit card through such an UNSCRUPULOUS BANK.

Anyone applying for a Firestone credit card, BEWARE. There are numerous complaints like mine involving CFNA and several  of them concern the Firestone Card.
