I have received the letter yesterday 07/24/07 from collect america ltd. Same situation since 2 years ago. The card was stolen and using my identity. I remember I applied many cards but this one it was sent to my house already activate by someone.

I kept it in my wallet to wait to make phone to cancel this card as soon as i can. One day I left my purse at home with my brother and some friends with security. When the next few weeks I received a letter from this card with full price and immediately I called right away.

I report this card was stolen and used by someone. The company sent me few pages of documents to fill out. I sent them away but since the day I am still got the same debt. I went to the police to make a report and bank to sign and stamp it the valid document to send the company.

I know this person who stole my card, his name is Jacob Garland, 18 years old and lives in a foster home. previously, he was is juvenile prison for stealing money from mothers friends. That's all I know about him.

Are you seriously trying to hold the bank at fault for this? Seriously? You know who stole your card. The bank did not mail him the card and say "hey, have fun with her credit." You left your purse alone in a house with someone who had a history of stealing money. Sorry honey, this is the fault of everyone involved EXCEPT the bank.
