When I heard about Credit Solutions, I thought, finally, some hope to help me with some of my bills. WOW was I wrong.
I signed up in April of 06 with them, paying them a total of $478 over a period of 7 months. During this time, you are not suppose to be paying your creditors, but instead, putting money in savings. They say to ignore the creditors, they will stop calling and forward any correspondence to them that you may get. I should have known better, it is NOT ok not to pay your creditors.
What they dont tell you is, during the time you arent paying, all of those fees & everything is adding up. So you end up settling on the amount with all fees included, not just your credit limit or whatever you balance was going into it. So it ends up being way more than what you started with.
I did get a couple settlement offers, but how the hell was I suppose to settle, when I have no money to begin with. This is where it all started going down hill.
Come January, I come to find that one of my creditors has filed suit against me. They came to MY WORK and served me papers. I also received an arbitration notice from another one of my creditors. Both wanting to settle for MORE than I even owed to begin with. I would call Credit Solutions and tell them my situation.
Finally they called the creditors trying to get a decent settlement. Finally both settled, but for way more than I had even hoped for. They said this was a good offer & take it. Yeah right.
So over the past month or so, I thought everything was completed, settled and done with. One creditor got paid, however, the second did not. Over the past month, i have been trying everyday to find out why no payment has been taken out of my account and everyday, i get no one. No one answers the phone, i'm on hold for at least 10 minutes, then it either gets disconnected or i get a voicemail. i leave voicemails, i send emails, and I get nothing in return.
Finally, i ended calling the law firm directly. the lady told me she had been trying over the past month to get in touch with them with no luck. They never got back to the law firm with my bank information, so now my settlement was VOID! I could not believe it. The lady said I'm not the only one with this problem going through them. I had no idea this was happening because no one would return any of my calls or emails.
To this day I still have not heard back or been able to get through. Now i'm out the $478 I started with and i ended up settling with the law firm for $245 MORE than my orginal settlement was.
THIS COMPANY IS A RIP OFF. DO NOT EVER USE THEM. They take your money & say everything is great and dandy & you end up losing big time in the end. I want to get my up front fees back but i cant get ahold of anyone there! i also filed a complaint with the BBB in texas. I hope someone listens to this!!
