When my account was first sold to Crescent Bank and Trust (CBT)via KBank in MD, CBT and KBank had descrepencies about payments that were made automatically from my checking acount. It took them 2 months to get this issue resolved. When I first heard that my account was sold to CBT i googled them and of course - they came up under Rip-Off report.com.

After the many phone calls from CBT made to ME about not recieving payments which were made to KBank during the "sale" of the loan and after reading the complaints on this site, I decided not to let CBT automatically debit my account.

When I made my first payment with a CBT rep - I told her flat out I was apprehensive bout their company taking over my account and I even gave her the website to read up on it. I told her it was for this reason specifically I would not authourize an automatic monthly payment with them. So, since Dec 2005, I call them or either they call me to authorize payment on my loan. I had actually dealt with the same CBT Rep for 7-8 months, no problems. She even took the time to explain policies, the way the loan matures etc., Her name was Judy and she was always courteous and helpful. This month, they changed my account rep - this is where the S&%! hits the fan. The rep calls me on the phone, like clock work - and as usual she asks me when should they deduct the payment. I give her the date of 5 days from today, she repeats it, I repeat it to reconfirm, we wish each other Happy New Year. The next morning, I get up check my Bank account and I am overdrawn. CBT has taken the payment 5 days before scheduled. When I call the company, I get the rep on the phone and tell her the payment needs to be reversed because she made the mistake. She apologizes and SHE ADMITS MAKING THE MISTAKE!!! She puts me on hold 3 times to tell me her supervisor will have to look at the error. She then tells me she will call me back when she is available. I wait 3 hrs and call her back. Of course now I only get her voice mail. I then call back to get the "supervisor" who is supposed to look into the problem only to get her voice mail. Now I know I am getting the brush off!! This error has caused me bank fees and over draft penalties and I can't even get a return phone call. I will be the first to let this site know if they rectify this problem but I promise to report this to every BBB they are associated with if the do not!!!

Crescent Bank and Trust resolves issue

AUTHOR: Lavelda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 29, 2006

In reference to the post where CBT deducted monies from my account before the date scheduled, the issue has been resolved. Chante' and Iris worked together to get my funds back and the amount was replaced in 48hrs. I agreed to work with my personal bank to refund the fees but CBT agreed to discuss either replacing the fees or deducting the amount from the loan
