I had to cancel service on one of our phones due to faulty equipment on Nov. 28th 04. We had four other phones with Cricket and in August 06 we discovered Cricket had been charging my credit card $45.48 every month for the service we had cancelled two years earlier.
They agreed there had not been service and stopped the charge but as of Nov.07 they have not refunded the overcharge of $968.00
I have spoken to every customer service rep there, faxed copies of my credit card statements, left messages with their Fraud Dept. threatened them with the Federal Trade Commission, the Public Utilities Commission, the Better Business Bureau, the local consumer advocate and still nobody from Cricket has contacted me. I am outraged by their baldfaced rudeness and now I know why they have armed security guards in their stores here.

Still- it took you 4 months to recover $1000.00. Cricket is not the tooth fairy, they still burned you. Over the course of needing multiple line cell service for less than a mortgage payment, we have dealt with Cricket for years, and not without frustration and aggravation. I have obtained a couple of phone #'s that have helped get me to CS reps who appear to have had common courtesy training along with a higher intelligence threshold for employment...
#1. NOT 1-800-Cricket or *611 these get you nowhere try- 866-384-4425 live reps.
#2. The corporate office. This has gotten me service, pronto!

Cricket Communications Refunds 912.00

Cricket Communications sent me a cheque for $912.00 on Feb. 19th for the overcharges they made to my credit card starting in 2004. I feel very gratified that my persistence paid off and that they came through finally. My faith in the system has been restored and I want the record to show that they did the right thing after all . Thank You Cricket.

Cricket Scams ALL the time!!

As a former employee of Cricket at their company headquarters I can tell you this that they regularly scam people. You can even tell by the responses of the current employees on this website.
They blame the people for not noticing credit card charges that are not legal when the guy cancelled the service. What kind of dumb f@#k blames the customer. The company should be apologizing and taking the blame for illegally charging on this gentleman's credit card.
I heard the CEO of the company encourages cheating customers. Beware!!!

You know, I don't know why this has become so complicated. Obviously that was part of the problem. In 2004, I had four phones ,two accounts two separate charges every month. I should have had all four phones on one account but we bought one some time before we set up the Family Plan. I have been with Cricket for about five years because with three teenagers they had the BEST deal I could find anywhere. Unlimited everything and free long distance. The coverage was a little limited but that didn't concern me and it still doesn't. And that's what really bothers me about this- I have paid about $8,000 over the years and my business seems to count for nothing to them. I am astounded that a company can be so oblivious to its customers

Hmm.....you stated you have a Family Plan....

I see that you stated that you have a "Family Plan". So you must have been a customer for quite a while. Cricket hasn't actively offered "Family Plans" since 2005. When they did have Family Plan, you could have multiple phones on one account and get discounts on the service of additional phones. You said you had 4 phones....but are they on the same "family Plan" correct? If that's the case, then you have 4 phones on 1 account, not 4 accounts. And, you currently state that you have 2 accounts. Is that 2 accounts, or 2 phones on 1 account?
Yes, Cricket does offer a discount for Automatic Bill Payment, and runs certain promotions with that feature.
Quick tip: you can remove Automatic Bill Pay after 1 month of service when it applies to getting the promotion, typically...try asking about it.

Cricket - Leap Wirelsss My third mistake Why was I so stupid?

I could play the blame game but I was dumb. That and on sick leave for the whole of 2005. My biggest mistake was to ever sign up for automatic payment in order to get a better rate. My second mistake was to assume the charge was legitimate without doing the math. We had four accounts under a Family Plan so it seemed reasonable. My third mistake was to ever think that Cricket Communications would do the right thing and correct the overcharge especially since I continue to be a paying customer with two accounts. It could have all been corrected with a simple credit against my bill or new phone.

I'm sorry this happened to you. In your case, I would ask to speak with a supervisor regarding your issue. They should be able to submit a payment refund request for you (and will probably ask for you to submit the proof again).
However, what I don't understand is that for TWO YEARS you never even noticed the $45.48 charge to your credit card statement. That's kinda strange...and I'm wondering WHY it took you so long to notice it. One of the problems you may have with this issue is the amount of time that has lapsed.
Well, the next thing to do afterwards, if they are no help, is to submit a written grievance to the Cricket Corporate office along with your credit/debit card statements as proof. Below is their information:
Cricket Communications Corporate Headquarters
10307 Pacific Center Court
San Diego, California 92121
Tel: 858-882-6000
Fax: 858-882-6010
I would recommend submitting it mail with a tracking number or by certified mail, that way you KNOW they received it.
I hope this helps...
