I go into the cricket store 2 weeks ago to pay my bill for another week of service and turn back on my phone. It's martin luther king day and the store is closing in a half an hour. Earlier than usual. I come out and an hour goes by, my phone is still off. It's 6 days until I can get to the cricket store again and calling customer service just results in the automated system asking for money.

The store representative admits that it's a "bug" in the system but says he can't reimburse me for the time my phone was off due to company policy, and of course they can't give me my money back but they can shut on my phone for a day.

Now let's talk about right and wrong here for a moment. If you pay for any service and don't recieve that service than thats ethically wrong. It could be for 2 dollars and it'd be ethically wrong. Companies figure they can get away with things like this because lawyers wouldn't take a case with such a small payoff. I asked for 1 week service for $20 bucks I get 1 day of service.

I still can't tell the type of plan that you're on.....

If you currently have everything except for the "Cricket Nationwide Roaming Minutes" feature, then you either pay $50, $45, or $40 per month (unless you're using the $18 per week plan). I have 2 Questions for you:

1) How much does your rate plan cost per month?
2) When is your bill due (your due date)?

Once you provide those, then I can maybe explain why you are having the issue that you're having with Cricket.

What type of plan are you on?

I'm confused here. What type of plan did you choose? Are you on week-by-week plan? I've heard something like this before, but I'm not too familiar with it. I can't help you much on this one unless you give more information. Sorry.

As for the "ethics" you were talking about, your logic is flawed. If you pay for service, and your amount due was $40 and you paid only $20, you still would NOT get service, because you did NOT pay the full amount.

For you, I would recommend a monthly plan instead of a weekly one. It would be cheaper for you and less worry about always having to re-activate it every week. If money management is your issue, then save back each week for 1/4 of the monthly payment so you can afford it.
