I would NOT reccomend that ANYONE use Cricket Wireless, No matter HOW convincing Cricket's Commercials are, or HOW poor they think they are... All switching to Cricket will get you is broke and messed over.

My girlfriend's mom switched to Cricket back in 2008, because she didn't want to be tied down to a contract and didn't want to have to pay more than she had to. I begged her not to, but she did it anyway.

As it turned out, to get all the features she wanted, she had to pay $60 per month, NOT $30- $45, as Cricket always advertises. Cricket is so cheap, they charge extra for things that are usually standard with other companies, such as voice mail and call waiting.

After a couple of months of her using Cricket, My girlfriend and I made the incredibly stupid move of going into a 3 line plan with her. Ever since then, there has been nothing but issues...

For example, one month we had to let the service lapse, since we didn't have enough money to make rent and pay for the service... Since there are no contracts with Cricket, this should have been no problem at all, right? WRONG!

In order to restore services, they told us that we had to pay the next month's bill up front, plus a disconnect fee, plus a fee to restore services... Now tell me, with no signed contract, how can they assess such fees? Legally, they can't...

And, you would think, for over $50 per line per month, that the service would be top of the line... not so much. The service is THE CRAPPIEST service I have ever seen. Even T-Mobile has better coverage and fewer dropped calls than them. Cricket can say what they want about their coverage and service, but I know different...

I have had cell phone service through EVERY major carrier, except for Sprint, and of all the carriers I have had, Cricket is the WORST, hands down.

I would never sign up for services with cricket, no matter how despairate you are. Take my advice. It will save your psyche...
