Do Not Buy a horse from this lady.  She misrepresents the horses she sells saying they are more trained than they really are.  These horses are green and yet she greatly over prices them 5000-15000 just because they are pretty horses.  Strongly Recommend a pre vet check first.  A lot of the horse she sells are broken ex-racers.  Their legs are shot and yet she is says they are sound and fit to do jumping and cross country eventing.  This lady is your typical no good horse trader. She will get a 500 dollar horse, put 30 days training on it and list in for 5000.  If you take a chance on doing business with her, take someone with you who really know something about horses and training and they will be able to see right off the bat that the horses don't have the training to match the outrages prices.  She is a good rider and can force a horse to look like it knows what it is doing. Then when you get on to try you will soon find out the horse is pulled and forced instead of trained.  If she can't sell a horse she will take a different set of photos, change the horses name and revise the write up but not the price.  This woman is only out to take your money.   She has no concern if the horse would be a good match or not.  Just sell, sell, sell.

She can ride but her teaching is terrible.  She regurgitates phrases from her own personal trainer or from something she read in a book.   After taking a few lessons with her it was very clear she can't teach.  Guess that explains why all she has are beginners.    Take Great Caution!

Original Report is Not True

AUTHOR: chinojosa - (United States of America)

I've known Emily for several years now, and I've both competed and shown with her.  While it is true that many in the horse world are dishonest and only concerned with making money, Emily is definitely not one of these people.  She takes the utmost pride in her business and her professional reputation and conducts herself and her business with integrity and honesty.

Emily does indeed take many ex-racehorses and gives them new jobs.  Some are more talented than others and able to perform at different levels, however known that I have seen are "broken down" and all are priced appropriately according to their skill and ability level.  She was recently at an eventing clinic with US Olympic rider, Karen O'Connor, riding one her retrained ex-racehorses.  At the conclusion of the clinic, Mrs. O'Connor was so impressed with Emily's horse she has offered to buy him.  This is a true testament to her skill and ability as a trainer and a rider.

Like every good trainer, she continually strives to improve her skills by taking lessons with her own trainer and attending clinics.  Furthermore, she is not afraid to pass on the information that she has learned to her students and their horses. This should not be considered a sign of poor teaching or a lack of knowledge, but the sign of a good trainer.  She wants her students to improve and become better riders and ultimately better "trainers" of their own horses.

As I am now pregnant, I am taking my eventing mare to her for additional training.  Contrary to the original report, not all Emily's students are beginners.  I have ridden and competed in dressage, eventing, and jumpers for many years and am most certainly not a beginner rider.  I know that Emily is not only keeping my mare's current skills sharp, but she is improving her training and my knowledge.

Please take the original report with a grain of salt and check out Emily for yourself before you make a decision about her.

Original report is false.

AUTHOR: SDiMascio - (USA)

I recently read the poorly written ripoff report regarding Crossline Stables and Emily Lock.

This original compliant is false and the worst sort of internet bullying.

I am an existing boarder of Crossline Stables.  I have purchased and leased more than one horse from Emily Lock.  I have purchased training and lessons from Emily Lock.  I have been riding, training and caring for horses for over 20 years and in more than 5 different states/areas of the US.

Emily Lock represents her training, background and services faithfully and truthfully.  She vigilantly works to provide a safe, clean and a professional environment for horses and their riders/owners.  She very truthfully represents the health, condition and training of all of the animals she rides, trains and sells.  She always advocates a pre-purchase exam for horses she sells and discloses all health information.

There is one correct statement in the original complaint, that she is an excellent rider.  These abilities also translate to excellent training and instruction.  Often these capabilities can make you a target for those with little to no talent or skills within this field.

Too often in the horse world, arm chair experts carelessly slander and libel professionals like Emily, who are in this career with a passion and love for the animals that is rarely rewarded as it should be.

I urge Ripoff Report to review this original complaint and demand proof be provided to back these false claims.

I don't mind if you read this.

AUTHOR: Emily Lock - (United States of America)

If you've made it this far down the page to read the reports posted on this website then you most likely care to see the truth of this written report. This is Emily Lock here.

Many don't know me personally but we have a common bond, horses, and that is a wonderful thing. My intent of writing this refute is not to get back at anyone, nor do I wish to add fuel to the fire of this person's anger. However I am within my means of defending myself and will do so rightly.

Sadly, I was once great friends with the author of this rip off report. We had a common goal, plan and interest in life and hoped to go forward together on it. Life took us in different directions. Why we can't agree to go our separate ways and be at peace with the other I don't know. I have done my part and to this day as I write here, have never once bashed the author of this report to anyone. I still have not even now that I have read the bitterness, anger and jealousy that pours out of her. I have pity because it does nothing but hurt the person of anger and keep them from living a happy life. If there's one thing I could let this person know is that I forgive you for these words and as always, I will go on and not be pulled down nor bothered. Life is too short for sure!

So to those still reading this out there. In a defensive side of me, I'd like to note a few things: Of the horses I've sold in these recent years, I have yet to have someone come back and tell me of their dissatisfaction. I have never sold a horse that had a problem the buyer was unaware about. I encourage vet checks as it states on my Crossline Bill of sale. I could show you countless pictures of my horses in their new homes with new owners absolutely thrilled! This author of this rip off report failed to mentioned she has purchased 2 of these ex-race horses from me and yet still wanted to buy another of which she was too cheep to pay the price he was worth. He sold within weeks of my work put into him. That's not a sign of how horrible of a person I am, but of what quality of a horse I had. This same horse belongs to one of my current students and boarders and they are absolutely thrilled with him and will have him for life. He's one of the best horses I've ever re-careered!

The author of this report also failed to mention that her daughter, whom I had the privledge of training for some time, won the Grand Champion of her dressage division at the only dressage show she ever entered. She also won Reserve Champion of the only hunter division she competed in as well.

If I wasn't the kind of trainer that did not consistently keep my self educated with current books from authors as well as keep myself up to par with my trainer's knowledge (who happens to be competing and WINNING at the national level), then I'd be failing my students as an instructor and failing my horses as a rider. Like most, I haven't started with the best education in dressage and eventing as a younger rider nor had a huge amount of exposure. With my current trainer of almost 2 years, she has given me the foundational elements that most overlook when starting the beginner horses or youth riders. I am proud to say I stand behind my work as an instructor and trainer. As they say, "the proof's in the pudding!" It really is. I absolutely love working with my youth students and when I am riding at an upper level then yes, I will take my students further with me in their education. Until then, they are more than happy to go to a more experienced trainer when they have "maxed out" on what I can teach them. So there's one thing I might have to agree with this rip off author, and that is, "I am a good rider." Thanks! I take pride in my work for sure. My horses don't just look good, they ARE good.

So I don't make any claims to be some big-time rider, but have goals, and am working my a*s off to get there. I don't claim to have all the answers, but I will definitely find them. My horse is not an upper level competitor, but we have plans on getting there and seeing how far we can go with much effort and late nights up training. I don't have the biggest, fanciest or well known facility, but that's not what I'm after. And you know what? It's mine and I can make improvements. I don't need fancy, I just need possible. I don't want huge fame or wealth, I just want to live life to it's fullest enjoying doing what I do.

So go ahead, read this rip off report. I'm happily exposing who I am for myself instead of passively sitting behind a computer screen spouting off garbage about someone because I have nothing better to do. Please, give me a call or better yet, come out for a tour of our facility and decide for yourself. I welcome that! I have nothing but pity for you, author. The manner in which this rip off report was written is nothing but a sign of this person's true character. This is the kind of person that would still find something to be angry and upset about even if you gave them a million dollars and everything they ever wanted in the whole wide world.

So I can read a silly rip off report by a bitter, angry and jealous person and it not bother me. I know who I am, I know what I do, I stand behind my work. I know where I am heading in life and I want to give 100% to my horses, business and to those little riders who are just as horse crazy as I was when I was their age!

Not the Emily Locke I know.

AUTHOR: Karen - (United States of America)

Gosh, could this be the same lovely young woman I have had the pleasure to work with over the last year and some odd months?  The same young woman who cared for my horses and Great Danes during the horrible winter storms we had while I was in the hospital?  The same young woman who had been so patient with me as I have taken multiple dressage lessons from?  The same young woman who let me ride her precious Freckles at no charge when I needed a more seasoned horse?  The same young woman who trained my Rodao and put basic dressage buttons on him that he still remembers after six months?  I could go on and on...

Emily Locke is one of the most honest and forthright person I know, who speaks only the truth, even when it is hard to hear!  I've been around a lot of horse people the last 4 years since I have gotten back into horses, and not everyone has those qualities.  In fact, I was pretty distrustful of her (didn't think anyone could be as "real" as she seemed to be) but found soon enough she was the real deal.

I don't have any daughters, but I would be proud to have her as one of my children.  I've threatened to adopt her, but I can't afford another one of me!   But seeing the kind of woman she is, the kind of mother and wife she is, I've always been so impressed with her and would certainly be proud to call her one of my own.

She is helping me a horse and was quite realistic with the price she put on him.  Her training is awesome, she is patient, easy to understand and very knowledgeable.  I've never left a lesson without having learned more than I paid for.

My dogs are crazy about her, she's sat on the end of my bed and spent time with me when I was so sick, she has always done what she said she would do.  I wouldn't trust my four guys with anyone else.

So, before you listen to someone's vindictive ramblings, check out Emily for yourself.  She is a remarkable young woman and I don't believe you will ever be disappointed in what you see.

Myself, I don't trust anyone that would write such a nasty statement without signing their name.  Seems to me if you speak the truth, there is nothing to hide from...makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Give Emily a try, I bet you will end up loving her as much as I do.
