At the Toronto Motorcycle Show December 7, 2007, I came across the above company's booth staffed by what appeared to be trust worthy people. They explain they had a new process for chromeing motorcycle wheels and they had a show special. Included in the price was pick up and delivery of the wheels. In order to receive the show special they want payment up front. I paid. First mistake.

I convinced a friend that this was a good deal and he called them and laid his money down. Second mistake.

We couldn't wait to have the wheels done so we drove to Orilla on December 22, 2007 and dropped 2 sets of wheels and tires off at their location. Third mistake.

We went to the North American International Motorcycle Super Show on January 5, 2008 and met the same people with a more impressive display. The story on our wheels were they were completed and they ment to bring them to the show, but they forgot them..... Another friend was impressed enough and paid a deposit. Fourth mistake.

Since that time we have made numerous calls without returns, sent emails without returns. The few calls we did receive from them have left us with broken promises, stories about phones not working, and wheels that have cracked when left in the truck overnight so they need to be reworked. At this point I do not believe a word that has been spoken by this company and those associated with it. I believe we have been ripped off!!

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

My husband is an ex-employee of Mr. Ripoff Artist Dave Small

NEVER EVER EVER use anything for this classic auto. I think it's a 3rd party business covering for something else. NEver paid my husband on time, never gave him benefits promised (while I was 8 months pregnant and waiting for benefits) and cars come and go. He drives customers cars when they leave them there. The guy is a master of lies. his wife is a freak and his children are useless and DO have keys to the place. Apparently his wife has loads of money as her father had something to do with a hotel chain -howard Johnson's. I think this business is a tax evasion and he never gave my husband his T4's when he quit. He was nice enough to give the guy a few months. I wanted to involve lawyers but my husband is too nice.

NEVER use Canadian Classic. Dave SMall will never answer his phones.

Got our Wheels back

AUTHOR: Concerned consumer - (Canada)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 25, 2008

After many calls, countless stories; none of them true, four trips to Orilla we finally got our wheels back. Since our last trip up two weeks ago I had pretty much given up hope. My friend, who also took his goldwing wheels up, thought that he would continue to bug the Smalls. One week he would leave up to three phone messages a day and last week ramped that up to four times a day and lengthen the messages quite a bit by talking slow and repeating etc. He had planned on going up again last Saturday and called two more times before he left. Dave Small called back and said he could pick up the four wheels and tires at 1 PM. My friend and his wife drove up and arrived at 12:40 PM to find our stuff out in the snow bank. Jason Small drove into the driveway in his HD pickup and never said a thing. My buddy put our stuff in his pick up and when I called him he saying "start the car, start the car".

Bottom Line is we got our stuff back the way we left it. We have learned a lesson. We don't know what these guys are up to. As others have learned if you bug them enough it seems you can get your stuff back. What you have to pray for is that they have not touched your stuff. Good Luck, be persistant, and do it now!!

Trip to Orilla - got nothing

AUTHOR: Concerned consumer - (Canada)

POSTED: Thursday, March 06, 2008

Three of my friends and myself showed up at the Small's place of business only to find son Mike. Two of us have a pair of wheels and tires plus $399 invested in this company. Another one of us has $175 invested. Knocked on the door and Mike showed up to say his Dad and brother were in Florida at Bike Week. He said he was there only to clear some snow and had no keys to the shops.

Mike got a little upset when we mentioned the police. He said he doesn't care for the legal system that we have in Canada. We called the police anyways. The Orilla OPP showed up and took our statements and Mike's. He had Mike try the door on the shop but it was locked and of course Mike again claimed he had no keys. The officer said that was all he could do as he does not have a warrant. He explained that there has been a lot of activity around this business and that there is an ongoing investigation.

My take on the days activities is that the police hands are tied until they can prove criminal activity. Mike and the rest of the Smalls are very smooth talkers. Con artists may be a better term. I have a very hard time believing anything that comes out of the Smalls. They have an excellant scam going, inhanced by lower than market prices, promises gallore, the ability to hoard parts and they are still willing to prey on the unspecting consumer.

My buddy called today and used another cell and his middle name. He left a message that he wanted to get some chroming done and said he would like to bring the parts and a deposit up today. After 2 months of no call backs he did get a call back stating they would take the job and that the parts and money should be broght to Orilla today. The person on the end of the phone called himself Jason. Once we arrived, Jason was nowhere to be found. They are still open for new business. Buyer BEWARE! Also the price has doubled!

Mike did give us his Dad's (David Small) Personal Cell phone. So go ahead and give it a call. (((ROR redacted)))

To Mark in Bowmanville who left his saddle bags there...we did see bags in bubble wrap sitting on a table when we looked through the window of the "office" in the motel.
