Due to originally receiving their product a custom-built high performance computer with two non-working DVD drives, and no response from Tech Support and wasted days of solving the problems between myself and computer blogs; I then had my sound vanish from my Sabertooth motherboard. Again no return from Tech support. I did a chargeback through VISA and only after two months did I recieve a response from a very amused VISA rep who stated CyberPower stated they didn't know what a chargeback was. I requested the rep approach CyberPower with a without prejudice $600.00 aggravation refund of my $1979.00 purchase. I received a letter CyberPower agreed. Recently, my computer died with two years left on the warranty, Danny Lee, their lead Tech stated 1)he was an attorney;2)Due to my chargeback they capriciously voided my warranty. VISA is also filing a complaint. Geek Squad is doing repair at my $$$.

A Warranty can be bought back!?

AUTHOR: senycz - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, March 08, 2012

From an email from Cyberpower's Danny Lee: "Please provide me the Intel staff member that you are referring to and I would be more glad to discuss this with them. In regards to the resolving this issue it is very simple warranty is directly connected to the Balance on your account. All that need to be done at this point is provide a check in the amount of open balance on your order.

Regards Danny L Cyberpower PC" This not only "bribes" the customer into getting "proper warranty service" but also contradicts his earlier comments about Best Buys working on the computer... It was all about the getting the money back, then alledging the computer would be fixed properly! BTW, during my personal investigative process in this matter, it was found that the memory chips installed were 1600mHz when the specs of the i7 Intel processor (per Intel and their personnel) only accepted 800/1066 mHz chips at 1.5V and this would overclock the computer's CPU. In my intial order form, Cyberpower also "promised" these memory chips would be either "Corsairs or Major Brand." The "major brand they placed in the computer were "V-Color" with NO NORTH AMERICAN CONTACT, the closest is Brazil, then Russia, India, Hong Kong, and their office in Taiwan. The FTC is well aware of their adverse activities. They have been also reported to Los Angeles County's Better Business Bureau http://www.la.bbb.org/business-reviews/Computer-Dealers-Retail/Cyberpower-Inc-in-Baldwin-Park-CA-13080817 who has a very accurate write up of how this company operates...
