"This woman" by the name of Linda shows up to my home, immediately upon my opening the door, jumps back. I answered the door, having been sick, and taking care of a sick child that had the flu or at least flu like symptoms catch up to her at approximately 4 AM earlier that morning, in simply shorts, I myself still recovering from the VIRUS we all caught, my almost 2 year old son included. Whom got over it in simply 1 night with tylenol! Upon entering my dwelling she looked around and heard my daughter whining that her body ached, like previously mentioned "Flu". Upon her hearing that sound, she asked why I had not taken to the doctor, and to which I replied "She just cropped up a fever about 4 AM this morning..." Then I tell my daughter, WELL WITHIN earshot (less than 5 feet away from this woman) "Hold on sweetheart let me get your tylenol", to which when I return with a bottle of red liquid, I pass in front her this woman's face, upon returning from giving the proper dosage, she queries "So you are giving her medication with it being prescribed?!".

To which I so wanted to bite her head off due to the sheer amount of obliviousness she was showing, "It's tylenol, she has a fever, isn't that what I am supposed to do?!". I mean seriously "this woman" is an investigator, and cannot pick up on what went on in my home simply around her in the short time she was there. Now I MUST take my daughter to the doctor, when they will simply tell me already what I know... "It is a virus and must run its course." I know this 100% as fact, as I suffered for 2 days with it, my son suffered 1 night with it (probably because I caught his earlier than mine, I just thought I was fatigued), and now it has caught up to my daughter. So I must waste money on something that need not be done, as she is currently sleeping it away as I type this, and in doing so take food out of my family's mouth.

I thought CYFD was supposed to be there to aid the good families, the ones that are doing their best, may not be making it the greatest, but making it none-the-less, and of course those whose children are in NO DANGER in being with. I don't do drugs, barely have a shot a month of alcohol, and that is only done when the kids are asleep, and my other half smokes cigarettes OUTSIDE for the kids sake, as well as it being stated in out lease no smoking within the home. Sure my place may slight mess at the moment, but I've been sick, had a sick son, and now a sick daughter. It is not like I would let it get to the point of endangering my children, I would crawl around on hands and knees to clean if that were the case!

CYFD needs to get investigators that honor the US legal ideology of "Innocent until Proven Guilty", not "lets jump to conclusions out of obliviousness, ignorance or both" or simply those that are able to pick up on the subtleties or much less so things that simply would have had to be forcibly ignored to overlook.

Living a Sheltered Life?

AUTHOR: granny747 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 10, 2012

Second degree indeed!!  All the educational degrees in the world do not mean anything unless you have learned that which is necessary to claim "you know what you are talking about!"

In the state of New Mexico the unprofessional female who came to my home gave me her business card, next to her name was a title "Investigator".  She knew nothing about investigating and everything about being a first class bully and professional abuser of innocent people.  She is a whiz at making up detail to protect her job and protecting the interests of any female who recently gave birth.

I looked up the salaries of some these people and it seems that for a yearly income of 65,000 to 87,000, perhaps you would make up lies too!  Yes sir they make a ton of money out of the sorrow and misery of others.  During 8 hour work day you can find some of these workers on the internet looking at what they should not, or as they make their rounds of "investigating," they get their hair done, shopping, laundry, and more.

Then they drive 85 to 95 in returning back to the office, if they are stopped by law enforcement a story is made-up like, oh I was involved with this poor child, bla bla bla and I wanted to make it back to the office in time.  Yeah right!  Their guilty of more than merely breaking the laws on speeding and these law breakers use their job titles and positions to influence judicial and law enforcement decisions in favor of the people of their choosing, whether the decisions are qualified or not.

Father's are looked upon as a species to be ridiculed and lied to here in the good ol' state of nuevo mexico.  At least that was the M.O. of the former administration in the governor's office.  The current governor is a female and she appears to have valid concerns about the honesty and efficiency of how all state employees handle their responsibilities.  We will soon see.

In my years of work for state, federal, county government have I ever witnessed the vast and professional incompetence of employees at Children Youth & Families Department.  Never!! Till January -2009.  I was called a Liar, told by this cyfd-child protective services worker that I had no rights, she had the police officer that I called look in our refrigerator and criticize our furniture and every aspect of our lifes, all this supposidly without her knowing anything!

She grabbed a child who was and had been abused by the child's mother and foreably ripped the child from her crying father's arms saying she was keeping the child for a 72 hour hold!  Don't you think this CYFD worker was out-of-line?   She did not even use common sense to inquire of the person who called law enforcement in the first place.  This worker took the child from the wrong family, she took the child from the only family the child has loved since birth, not the birth mother.

What I am saying here is that there are far too many incidents where children have died because of the ineffective actions of CYFD.  You should see - they have no protocol, no guideline and no reasonable and logical manner of handling investigations, did I mention they exhibit no decency nor humanity and definitely no professionalism.

You use a computer, do this  google CYFD lied or cyfd failed or something like that, you will find 100's of stories of "father's" who have been alienated from their children thanks to the false statements of a cyfd employee.  It appears that they are heartless and have no compassion where children are concerned and accept the coniving statements of mother's who have mental health issues.

Mother's who would rather see their child die than allow the father to have a relationship with his child.

In Santa Fe, cyfd (children youth & families) workers protect their interests and their jobs first, the mother's who abuse their children, second. The majority live off the glory from a hand-full of employees who actually do the work.

Having a degree isn't as important as how much you know and have experienced in life and your ability to relate to other human beings on a professional level of understanding and compassion.###

Apparently the good guy wins some of the time...

AUTHOR: Venificius - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 22, 2011

After this stressful ordeal occurring I called the supervisor, and made a complaint stating that ""This woman" is no longer allowed in my home, but feel free to send any other investigators that have a proven track record, and believe in the American ideal of "Innocent until proven guilty" as well as one that actually comes into a home and is not oblivious to the goings on under their nose when they are there to witness it first hand." Not a single soul has shown up to my home since that very stressful day, have had no paperwork, no phone calls, no anything! So once again, as this is newly titled... Apparently the good guy wins some of the time... (Insert Name of YOUR Higher Power Here) bless America, and the ideals for which it has stood, despite those that have attempted/succeeded to corrupt them.

Thank you all that have agreed, and despite those that have apparently no regard for READING THOROUGHLY, you at least took the time to read this at all, in some form or else you would not have taken the time to post a reply to it. I even thank you for your time you spent reading my rant, despite it being mostly run-on sentences. Albeit that is now the new norm for English language, read any recent books, they are full of neologisms and similar dialog and sentence composition. As for learning the English language, I have an extensive vocabulary, and excellent spelling skills, so nice try on that knock about my teaching my children better through expanding my own skills. In fact... I will prove that I know how to teach my children any number of subjects, my (now 6 year old) daughter from the age of 2 was able to turn on her computer, get on HER user (a Butterfly picture for it), then decide if she wanted to watch a movie, listen to music, or play one of the numerous learning games that were on the computer. Now show me a 2 year old that can do ALL that, including shut the computer down (properly I must add) when finished, and I will withdraw my claim to being able to teach my children to excel at whatever they may be doing...

My reading comprehension is fine but,

it's your writing skills that could be significantly approved.  I didn't state you posted hogwash.  What I wrote was a rhetorical device.  If you don't know what that is, look it up.  Better yet, go back to school.  A good command of the language, especially written language, will serve you well throughout your lifetime.  It will also help better educate your child-a double bonus.

Here's just an example from your post:

I answered the door, having been sick, and taking care of a sick child that had the flu or at least flu like symptoms catch up to her at approximately 4 AM earlier that morning, in simply shorts, I myself still recovering from the VIRUS we all caught, my almost 2 year old son included. Whom got over it in simply 1 night with tylenol!

FYI, the aactive ingrediant of Tylenol is acetaminophen which just happens to be the foremost cause of LIVER DAMAGE in the western world.

My SW degree is my second degree.  CPS in Texas does not get enough funds and the way the laws are here the workers really have their hands tied!  There are not enough workers, high turnover - CPS will even pay you to attend UT Arlington IF you come and work for them. NO thanks. I know of one CPS worker who case became high profile when the child was found dead in a park - law did not allow her to remove the child because the case was not considered a 9 on a scale of 10 which is extreme danger.

CPS workers are not all "evil, money hungry, out to get the parent" blah blah blah like I have read in so many reports.  Don't like the way the system works I suggest the OP go work for CPS!

Read thoroughly much?

To the person stating I am posting hogwash, and the Psychic comment, you might want to brush up on reading skills, the investigator showed up for another reason obviously, but when they are IN the home and cannot observe the goings on and listen to something that simple, they do not deserve to be called an investigator, as if they were to overlook something, or simply not catch something it could be a child's welfare at risk. Not my own children, but just imagine how many subtle or not so things go on in a home when an investigator is there that could be overlooked by such an ignorant person.

Stress indeed!

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, September 10, 2011
I am studying to finish my SW Degree and as stated above I would never work for CPS.  Too much stress and heartache.

You're right about the stress.  My wife is a CPS abuse investigator for the county and I don't know how she does it.  I guess that's why I married her over 4 years ago.  You're equally correct about the low pay.

You wouldn't believe the horror stores.  I certainly wouldn't last long in such a job; I'd either be fired or in jail (most likely both) within a week.

Ya gotta wonder why these folks even have kids.  Shees!

Ya know, it's the type of work where CPS just can't win.  If it's not "cps is stealing my kids for money" it's the other end "CPS failed the child" when some poor kid died because of the injuries caused by the abuser-CPS should have removed the child from the home earlier.

Some of these "homes" are just atrocious.  There have been many times where my wife comes home and either removes her clothes in the back yard or in the basement because of the filth and bug infestations in the home she visited.  How anyone can choose to live that way is beyond me.

Then there are the times she has come home in tears because of the plight of some child and that she couldn't get the kid removed quickly-the State has an extensive proceedure that must be completed BEFORE they petition the court to remove the child from the home.  It is only during dire and extreme emergency that an "emergency removal" will be obtained by a judge pending a formal hearing-the criteria is VERY LIMITED (the child has to be in IMMEDIATE PHYSICAL DANGER, very very rare.)

NOBODY goes into CPS for the money-something else drives such folks down this career path.

The only reason that CPS or any Child Welfare worker shows up at your door is because there has been a complaint lodged against you.  The reason Child Welfare workers are in place is to investigate complaints of abuse/neglect.  These workers are paid low wages, have high case loads and I for one would never work for them because of the guidelines and restrictions they endure.  I am sure there will be lots of "CPS steals children to place in foster care for money" idiots that will respond to this complaint.

Robert - FYI - I do not know how the Family and Childrens Services works in your state but here the State of Texas does not require that case workers be a Licensed Social Worker.  I am studying to finish my SW Degree and as stated above I would never work for CPS.  Too much stress and heartache.

Psychic?

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, September 09, 2011

I guess this CYFD worker was PSYCHIC and just knew that you were going to administer tylenol without a doctor's prescription so she came to your house to observe this.

Hogwash!  These investigators/social workers don't just show up out of the blue.  There had to be a REASON (an ongoing case) for this person to come knocking at your door.

Now, why don't you tell us the REAL REASON that you have a CYFD worker following up on you?
