So, I was reviewing my AT&T bill and noticed there was a 9 minute collect call to Glendale, AZ for $14.37. I was a bit confused for a few reasons. The first was that this phone line was never connected to a phone jack. Odd, I know... When I moved, I decided to give my parents a second phone line so I could avoid paying the early termination fee by simply moving it to another AT&T service area.

The AT&T rep came to set up the service, but I told them that I'd hire a third party (i.e. my neighbor who used to work for them) to install it to the jack. Well, my neighbor never got around to it, I saw it was pointless and decided to disconnect the line. Well, when I got my final bill, it had a charge for the collect call. But, how could a collect call be made or received from a line that isn't connected to a jack?

So, I called to complain about how I don't even know anyone in Glendale, Arizona. All my family lives in California or abroad. Two, I told AT&T specifically to block any collect calls to the line when I first established the line. Third, I called the number listed on the bill and its a fax. How the hell did I accept a collect call from a fax for nine minutes? Lastly, I can't make a phone call or receive one cause the line isn't even connected to a phone jack.

Anyway, the number for OSP Communications just plays music, but no one actually answers. I looked them up online and there was nothing but fraud alerts posted for them. No actual website.

I eventually called AT&T back to formally declare that I will not be paying them anything. The AT&T agent just put me on hold while he set up a conference call with a company called The Billing Resource.

So The Billing Resource agent asks me if I ever received the collect call. For the third time, I explained that no one could make or receive calls. I was so pissed I started calling her by her ID number rather than her name.

Eventually, she agreed to refund the money. I was so pissed, I was like "Gee thanks number 1@@@! You are soooo great!" I also let her know that I filed a complaint against them and her buddies at OSP to the Federal Communications Commission.
