I will keep this brief and to the point. In November, 2014 I purchased a used 2010 Kia Rio from the Danbury Kia dealership. I also purchased a three year bumper to bumber warranty from the dealership for $1,700.00 because the car was for my young daughter. I have to work out of the area so I want my daughter protected as much as possible.

Unfortunately, the car was totaled in December, 2014. I collected on the insurance and requested a partial refund of the three year bumper to bumber warranty. Actually, because I am outside of the United States, my daughter requested a partial refund and even asked that it be applied on some repair work being done on a different Kia that I own and was in their repair shop at the same time we requested a partial refund. The Kia Dealership people acted in a rude and intimidating manner towards my daughter refusing all requests to return any of the money they took just a month before for their insurance coverage that will never be used.

I purchased two cars from them so that they know I am not in the market for any additional vehicles so they can pull this hostile act with my daughter while I am out of the country. It is disgusting behavior to intimidate a young female student and secondly not to return any part of the extended warranty payment that they know full well can never be used.  NEVER NEVER BUY A DEALER OFFERED EXTENDED WARRANTY AND NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH DANBURY KIA BECAUSE YOUR EXPERIENCE WILL NOT BE A GOOD ONE.

I closed the deal for my daughter, a university student residing in Danbury, CT, right before closing. I took possession of the car but there was no time to do the proper paperwork. I left town the next day and never saw the terms and conditions of the extended warranty. As far a I know, no paperwork was received other than the sales contract itself.  Each State has its own disclosure laws at time of purchase. Nothing regarding the terms of the extended warranty was spoken about other than the upfront payment, the number of years and miles, and what repairs were covered.

I have given this dealership my business before and I have a small business in Florida. I would never treat a customer in this manner, regardless of circumstances. I do understand as a small business owner that a business cannot make everyone happy and there are customers that take advantage of businesses. I do not believe that this is the case and nothing warrants the rudeness that my daughter had to endure at the dealership while I was out of town.
