P.O.S. Ford I bought at Danny Beck Chevy my story!!!by Terry Estes on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 9:59pmI would really like you guys to read and give me some feed back! June 2010 I purchased an 2005 F250 6.0 diesel, with a lil over 110,000 miles for $25000 with the extended warranty through Zurick.   Started whistling mid September had a hunting trip planned so took it in, to find out the head bolts have stretched which cost me $4,000, cause zurick wouldnt cover due to not being able to have "scientific evidence" of what caused the problem zurick said it had to be a blown head gasket, which i have the gasket and is perfect. 

Zurick sent their inspector out to measure the stretched blots but he said he wasnt going to waist his time because this is a known problem and only cure for that is to go with ARP head studs which wont stretch ($600)! So my truck was down from mid october to end of november.  Then first of December it startes blowing black smoke, take it Danny Beck's he takes it to his Ford Deisel shop in Vinita, and  finds out an injector is wide open, so he puts $4,000 into it i get it back sometime in january.Mind you i am keeping it touch with danny beck about all of this,  and they mentioned trading out trucks, and calling it a lemon. 

Notice a diesel smell and coolant leak.  take back to where i had the head work done and diesel is in the coolant reservoir which  was expanded and cap would no longer fit, so he replaced that. so i head straight to Danny Beck Chevy, and he tells me its fine to drive and he will take it to vinita ,which i am sphiring a can full of diesel out every day before i can go to work.  i am showing up at Danny Beck Chevrolet a couple times a week and texting his represenative that i am dealing with before he finally takes it back to Vinita 2 MONTHS LATER!! and then texts me and texts we need to talk about this "POS ford" and Dannys Rep saidhe is surprised i havent drove through their front glass, and that  he got 8 f250 with 6.0 engines ran 6 through auction due to head issues, and sold the other 2 and mine is one of the other 2.

His Ford mechanics which i have beentold he has 2 of the 250 nation wide master ford techs. they had it about a month and think it needed injector cups which they wanted to charge me $600.  and not sure if that would fix problem.  So i decided i was going to take Danny Beck up on his lemon idea, they had me test drive and 2008 dodge 2500 they wanted $34,000 i offered to give full price to get me out of this truck to only be told no i would have to finance $46,000 cause they would only give me $10,000 for a $25,000 truck i purchased less than a year ago from them! they wanted me to go upside down $12,000  due to this truck is really only worth maybe taking it through auction and ive put about  10,000 miles on this truck.  

of course i said NO, they said you act like you just got this truck last month, I havent even had to put an oil changeon this truck yet due to so many shop visits!!Danny Beck Chevrolet has washed their hands of the truck and says I need to get rid of it.  he would suggest trading it in at a different dealorship because they dont know this truck and the issues with it,  but its been in the shop since may hoping it is the cup because if not its the heads!!  which is a $7,000 at least fix.   meanwhile im having to make payments on my truck and borrow a car from family!! do you think Danny Beck should do more or do you think they have done enough?

Our Response:
We had our shop check this vehicle over before putting it on the lot for retail sale, and it seemed to be in relatively good shape for the mileage. It had 114,404 miles on it when we ran it through the shop, then we sold it to Terry.
The vehicle was brought in to us after another shop had attempted some repairs. We replaced the #4 fuel injector, and had to tighten down all injectors to factory specs because they were improperly torqued by someone, which caused the injectors to back off and create a running problem. We also had to reinstall a body mount that someone had installed upside-down. We did not charge the customer ANY money for these repairs, in an effort to keep him  happy.
Several months later, the truck developed another problem. Terry brought it back to us, and we told him we would TRY to figure out the problem. (Understand, this is a FORD diesel truck, not a CHEVROLET). However, when we told him that he would have to pay the normal diagnostic charges in the service department, he asked for his truck back and said he would handle it.
This truck was purchased in June of 2010 and we do not know how the truck has been used or treated. In an attempt to satisfy the customer, we have given him a FULL refund of the purchase price of the service contract he bought. We did not pro-rate the refund as is the normal procedure, we gave him a full refund. We supplied Terry with loaner vehicles every day his truck was in our shop. We have spend around $4,000.00 on this truck and charged the customer nothing, in addition to refunding his service contract with full refund.
We feel that we made every effort to keep the customer happy.
