On Oct. 16, 2008 I went to Darcars to purchase a vehicle that I saw on thier website, I had an appointment with a salesman. I arrived at the dealership with my own financing. I had a check from my bank in my hand and they were aware of it.

There was a problem with my trade-in, a mechanical problem arose while the salesman was test driving it. They were now going to offer no more than 1500.00 for my 2004 F-150, however my payoff was over 7800.00.

The bottom line was that I would have had to borrow 17K to buy a 10k truck. Initially I got on the phone with my bank to request an increase which I soon realized was not going to be done in a timely manner. I was on my cell phone in the finance office of Darcars for over 105 minutes. I then told them I need to get something to eat and talk with my wife about this decision. During my phone call the finance rep completely filled out the paper work as if this deal was going to happen.

When I returned I told them I wanted my key back to my truck and that I wasn't going to buy a truck today. Of course I had to talk to the sales manager then the vice president and eventually the president, all of whom tried to convince me that it was a bad idea to keep my truck and just put the money into it to repair it. But they were sure that it was a good idea to borrow 17k to buy a 10k truck. I got my key back and left.

Then 10 days later, I recieved a letter from Citifinanacial and 3 days after that I recieved a letter from M&T Bank. What Darcars did was apply for an installment loan in my name without my approval or even telling me that they had.

I contacted Transunion who told me to contact Citifinancial who told me to contact Darcars and get a letter from them stating that they wanted the inquiry removed. After 4 days and several phone calls none of which I could get the President of the Dealership on the phone, yea the same one who had plenty of time to tell me that I should borrow 17k. A finance rep (Mike) stated that they were not going to provide any letter. I let them know that I would contact my attorney if I had to and then he got really rude and said will then go ahead and then I'll forward it to our attorneys.

I then told him that I expected this reaction, especially when I googled "Darcars" and on the very first page Rip Off Reports was there with their name tied to it. So, I've sent the info to my attorney and they are working on it.

I advise to stay away from DARCARS, they are beyond crooked.
