My Wife, Brenda Talley, received a letter from DARCARs which stated in the 2nd paragraph "On Friday. June 25, 2004, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, DARCARS Lincoln Mercury is rewarding its loyal previous customers with the Employee For-A-Day Savings Event. As an invented guest, you will receive Full Employee Discounts on any new or peviously owned vehicle, just as if you worked here! This offer is good for one day only."

The leter also stated that the price would be substantially lower than the retail selling price; and Bank representatives would be on hand. One extremely important statement contained in the letter was that appraisers "were willing to pay off your vehicle regardless of payoff"

When my Wife and I walked in the door, we met a brand new female salesperson named Avis, just fresh out of training. She was new and treated us with utmost courtesy. We informed her about the letter, and she immediately started showing us vehicles on the lot. My Wife picked out one, and the three of us went back inside to work out a deal. Since this was her first day, she wanted to invite her manager, Mr. Nadir, to meet us and discuss a deal. He never came in, just kept sender her back in asking questions or giving incomplete answers. Finally, I gave Avis information to check the payoff for the vehicle my Wife and I were going to trade in, a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero SUV.

Mr. Nadir, still ignoring my Wife and I, sent Avis to tell us that they could do nothing for us because the payoff for the Montero was too high. and that the promotion was for customers who did not have a large payoff amount on their trade in vehicle. I gave Avis the letter (which stated the trade vehicle payoff would be paid regardless of the amount owed) to give to Mr. Nadir. He refused to even discuss the contents of the letter. Even though this was Avis' first sale, he never came in to talk to us at all. I asked Avis to get his business card for me, but Mr. Nadir refused to provide it. They wanted to keep the letter that my Wife received, but I refused to leave it. So, Avis made a copy.

I believe that DARCARS Lincoln Mercury should honor the letter they sent to my Wife, and that Mr. Nadir should be repremanded for his treatment of customers. We want to work out a deal for the vehicle that my Wife selected and we want our trad in paid off.

In 1995, my Wife and I bought a Van from this dealorship. We still have it; its still in great shape; and is one of the best vehicle we ever owned.

Ask The Salesmen How Long They Have Sold Cars

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 10, 2004

Buy many cars and the first thing I ask is how long have you been selling cars. Saves alot of problems. Read on one of these posts about the folks who had a Mitsubishi that they owed $30,000 on and it was worth like $8,000. Maybe the car guy was trying to save you sticker shock. There are many people who fell for the 1 yr no interest, no payments trap. I think 20/20 did a show on it not too long ago and I read posts and articles about it all the time. At the end of the first year, after no payments and no interest, the balance on their $30,000 vehicle was $42,000 and the vehicle was worth $12,000. The figures aren't exact but it happened to so many people that Mitsubishi has a terrible default rate. DARCARS may have done better at customer service but if the figures don't add up, they don't add up. If you had purchased a $20,000 vehicle and your payoff was say $20,000, and DARCAR gave you $8,000, you'd owe $32,000. You may want your trade-in paid off but you might not like the figures. Good luck.

Exposing FRAUD and car dealers don't LIKE IT. About time someone speak up for the American car buyer.

AUTHOR: Stick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 10, 2004

Troy- I was never # 1 on any sales board. Never said I was. I never broke any sales records because I could NOT enjoy ripping off consumers. Maybe you love doing it if you sell cars.
Don't act like you know all about me.

Let's chat about car dealers paying off car Buyer's trade IN's OK

Look at this F,,,ING Rip Off Report. You think this lady was done right by the car dealer? You think they told her what they were doing with her trade? Want me to post a PIC of the 4 yes I said 4 car buying contracts they had her sign?

They run this lady through the ringer. They never told her that they kicked her trade when they had her sign the last dirty car buying contract. I talked to her. I have copies of all 4 contracts they had her sign.

www.badbusinessbureau.com/reports/ripoff52158.htm

Don't come to this web site and try to defend auto dealer scams and Rip Off's

You said
"To make a deal, the dealership must incorporate the payoff in respect to the current market value and add the deficiency to the new loan balance. Sometimes such a lack of collateral makes the deal unrealistic to the bank."

The problem is that MANY dirty car dealers like to BEND the truth when they send the bank a copy of the car Buyer's credit application. They also like to bend the truth when they have their NEXT VICTIM in the F&I office.

Note to all car owners: Contact your auto lender and ask to get a copy of the credit app you THINK you signed when you bought your new or used car.

If the auto lender does not want to send you a copy and tell you to go to your car dealer to get a copy, Something might be wrong with the credit app that they got from your car dealer. TRY maybe FRAUD behind your back! Maybe your auto lender does not want to take a chance of you finding FRAUD.

Many and I mean MANY auto lenders know d**n good and well that car dealers play with the car Buyer's credit app's before the auto lenders get them. The real problem is that the banks like all the auto loans they get from the car dealers that they LOOK the OTHER WAY! Troy can we say FRAUD?

Troy I am right NOW involved in a law suit because I cought a local car dealer in FRAUD. The car buyer had no idea as to what happend until he talked to me. My job is not selling cars Troy. My job is exposing FRAUD to the consumer and in a court of law and I LOVE IT. In many cases I do it for FREE because I love to expose FRAUD in the auto industry.

TroyI never have been the best car sales person because I was NEVER into Ripping OFF car buyers, But I can say I am one of the BEST at exposing car dealer scams in this country.

Trust me local attorneys and a few in Vegas love what I do for them when they have a case involving a dirty car dealer. Don't believe me call Mr. Pollock. Still don't believe me? Contact Tony in NY at Consumer Reports. Their next buyers guide will be printing what I have to say.

Contact The Az Republic, TV5 and TV 12 all are in Phoenix. They love what I say. Contact Dateline they have called me for insider info.

Trust me Troy many car dealers that see my name on a law suit as an expert witness that they are involved in don't like it. They seem to want to settle OUT of COURT!

Don't believe me, contact the Editor of this web site.

My job is to protect car buyers, not Rip them OFF!

Maybe you are into Ripping car buyers off and you do not like this web site!

Next you say
"Advertisements are designed to get the name of the dealership in front of people to keep them in mind if they are in the market for a car"

Why do MANY car dealers print the low payments real BIG, and the disclaimers so F,,KING SMALL Troy? Can we say let's print decption?

You and I know big print givith and the small print takith away!

You and I know that car dealers compete with each other when it comes to their dirty deceptive advertising each and every weekend.

One weekend a car dealer will have a "Construction Reduction sale" Next one might me "We will pay off your trade NO MATTER HOW DEEP YOU are IN THE MUD!"

Next one might be called "Police impound sale" or maybe They might call their sale "STICKER RIPPER SALE" or maybe "manager's inventory reduction sale" or maybe they will call their next sale "everybody's approved sale"
Maybe one might be called "Goverment sized sale"

A car dealer having a sale is a scam it's self and we all know it. Think about it. They have one every weekend. Each and every one has a different name.

I wonder how many different names the auto industry can come up with for their so-called sales? Maybe these could be some good names for car dealer sales.

1 "Did your last car dealer Rip you OFF sale"
2 "If you do not have a job, you are approved sale"
3 "Don't have a drivers license sale"
4 "Rubber checks are OK sale"
5 "Bring your no job co-signer sale"
6 "we will not Rip you OFF sale"
7 "Your dead grandpa can co-sign sale"
9 "We will lie to the bank behind your back sale"
10" it's OK, your cat can co-sign for you sale"
11' Suckers are loose and easy sale" S.A.L.E.

Sale, what the hell does that word mean?
They only use the word "Sale" to try to make the car buyer's FEEL GOOD!

Trust me, there is no SALE in the auto industry, just scams.

Although your opinion is respected, you were a lousy salesperson in Phoenix, Az and could not sell cars. The letter stated that the dealership would pay off their vehicle once they made a deal.

To make a deal, the dealership must incorporate the payoff in respect to the current market value and add the defeciency to the new loan balance. Sometimes such a lack of collateral makes the deal unrealistic to the bank.

Think of it like asking for a loan for 1,000,000.00 and having only 1,000.00 for collateral. If you dont pay, and they repossess the car, they lose thousands and causes a default.

Too many defaulted loans, and the bank wont loan money to people that need it. Advertisements are designed to get the name of the dealership in front of people to keep them in mind if they are in the market for a car, just like a real estate agent does, no different. In closing, do beware of the small print, nothing is for nothing. If it sounds too goodd to be true, call and get details first.

Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Otis Don't be too fast to trust any car sales person that say "fresh out of training" or "I am new to selling cars and this is my first day"

AUTHOR: Stick Rip Off Report Consumer Advocate - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 06, 2004

Otis When you get anything in the mail that a car dealer has sent to you inviting you down to their car lot, BE VERY cautious!

Car dealers will use any tactic to get a "UP" on their lot to have a OTB. Opportunity to do business. Good or bad business. They just want to get you locked into something before their competition gets a good grip on you and your money.

Don't think that because you are a "invented guest" that you are going to be treated special when it comes to the auto industry. Fat chance that will happen.

Next I have to say that when a car dealer says "Bank representatives will be on hand" ask to meet one of those so-called bank REPS. Trust me you will not get a business card from one that shows they are an employee of a bank. They in most cases are a car dealer's representative.

They just want you to THINK you are talking to a person that is a Bank representative. Car dealers know that when a car buyer hears on a radio commercial "Bank representatives will be on hand" they know that car buyers THINKS that when they say that car buyers think they are going to get to talk to a REAL BANK EMPLOYEE! Think again my friend.

When you hear a car salesman/woman say that they are just "fresh out of training" that's a BIG HEADS UP for you. Many times they will say that just to get you to THINK you are dealing with someone that does not know what they are doing.

They want you to THINK or FEEL you have the upper hand. That's a ploy used to catch you off guard. They like to you this so when they say "let me go check with my Manager, I am new to this line of work and I don't know what I am doing" Yea right, they don't know what they are doing. FAT CHANCE!

So when they say that this is their "first day" I would not believe it. My motto in the auto industry is "Lips moving? Lies come out"

When a sales manager has a sales person running back and forth, that's a game that many use to try to wear you out. make you tired so you will "give up and give in"

When you talk to a sales person and they ignored you and your Wife, that was the time to USE YOUR BOOTS and WALK OUT!

When a car dealer has any kind of promotion that is on TV, in the newspaper or dumped down your ears on a radio station make sure that you and READ THE FINE PRINT with OUT a MAGNIFYING GLASS or if it is on the radio and the CLOWN spews it all out so fast that you need to record it and play it back on a tape recorder that has almost DEAD batteries and play it back REAL SLOW so you can hear all of what they say.

If you can't read it or understand it, TRASH IT!

I wonder how much money radio stations pay those clowns to read that s**t off so FAST at the end of their commercials. BIG PRINT givith and SMALL PRINT takith away. Never forget it!

Remember this, it will save to time and money in a BIG WAY. "The Big PRINT GIVITH", and the "small print takith a way!"

By the way when a car sales person says "This is my first sale" Don't believe it. Many use this to get you to go easy on them. You know that you won't be their first car buyer that BEATS THEM UP on price. I say to hell with it. BEAT them until they POP or DROP. It's your money the are trying to take.

Otis you said "I asked Avis to get his business card for me, but Mr. Nadir refused to provide it" That's also a big HEADS UP!

When a car dealer's employee does not want to give you a business card. Might be a sign that they might be giving you a fake name to hide from their deceptive ways.

Remember this, it will save to time and money in a BIG WAY. "The Big PRINT GIVITH", and the "small print takith a way!"

Hope I help all who read my postings.

this dealership is bad news!

AUTHOR: Shawn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 05, 2004

Bad car salespeople and dealerships are everywhere, but this place is one of the worst i've experienced. It's such a shame that people in our community have to go to other local Lincoln dealerships to get treated decently.

I bought many a car from them when it was still under Wilson Powell ownership. DARCARS seems to be an organization that hires the worst of the worst to staff their locations. If I were you, I would go the extra distance to purchase from Brown Lincoln or Cherner Lincoln in VA.

Recently I was in the market for a new car and thought I would give Wilson Powell / Darcars a second chance since they are in my community. The salesperson was arrogant and did not make me feel welcome. I don't think complaining to management would be any help - it's obvious they have no standards for the people they hire. If they don't like our community, they should simply leave.
