I will keep my story short an to the point. I purchased a 1988 Jaguar XJS Collectors Edition car and had DAS (dependable Auto Shippers) Ship the vehicle. They not oly destroyed the vehicle (over 2500.00 worth of damage) but charged me EXTRA for doing it!! Yes, this is a true story, I was to pick the car up in Mesquite Texas and when I did the car's driver side door would not even shut and would not be safe on the drive home. It looked like someone got an oversized can opener and tried to peel the driver door off. The damage was very appearant and very bold. I was sick at my stomach! My dream car was undrivealbe, and then DAS stated "we will drive the cr to your home (70 miles north of there) since your car is undriveable. The car arrived about 5 DAYS LATER, and not only was the car covered in oil from being a bottom load (I was charged for top load), the car also had vandelism to the interior and seatbelts were ripped out of the car, and appearant damage done with a hammer to remove molding from the interior and smack the gauges!! This is UNBELIEVABLE! To make things worse, is that they made an extra charge of $200.00 to my credit card for the "door delivery"!!!

I have NEVER in my life been taken advantage of then bent over, then slapped in the face, the robbed!! This complete experience has been a nightmare. I am now left with an undriveable vehicle, an inspectable vehicle, and DAS telling me that they can only pay 150.00 for vehicle coverage. This would not even cover the extra charge for the undrivable condition that made them have to deliver to my door. The customer service they offer is very rude and have gona as far as calling us "a liar" and making statements like " I guess you are out of luck" and "too bad". They said the drive is responsible, but his information is "not available" and "good luck" getting the information. I would NEVER recommnd them, and I am going to persue a criminal case against them in court. They have to be the most devious and dishonest company in the United States. They charge you to destroy your vehicle, then laugh at you when you have nothing but a useless vehicle. Very hateful and this event is 100% the honest truth. PLEASE BEWARE DAS AUTO SHIPPERS ARE CREEPS!!! COMPLETE RIPOFF, DESTRORYS VEHICLES!!!

Also...I had a bad feeling when picking it up in mesquite Tx when the 2 customers in front were both (females) crying and argueing with the clerk about thier cars being badly damaged. I just thought...Oh surely not mine too...Well..........BAM! I got bent over and laughed at. NO RESPOSIBILTY BY THEM AND EVEN CHARGED ME MORE WIHTOUT MY PERMISSION!!!

DAS has researched this report. Regrettably, the Jaguar incurred some damage in shipping. However, there are a few discrepancies in this customer's report:

Firstly, the customer opted to ship the car under their own insurance policy. While this certainly lowers the cost of shipping, it also limits DAS' liability to $150.00. This is clearly explained in the contact between the customer and DAS. Under this option, the customer can submit a claim to their own insurance company.

Secondly, the damage to the interior (specifically the missing seats belts) was noted on the BOL at origin. This condtion eixsted before DAS took possession.

Third, the customer did not pay for a top load shipment.

Fourth, the customer purchased terminal to terminal shipping. There shipment did not include door delivery. For the sake of record-keeping, they were charged $203.00 extra to deliver the car to their door. However, they were also credited $203.00 that same day as a good faith gesture.

Finally, and most importantly, the customers were not mocked or laughed at. In reviewing the recorded phone conversations between the customer and the DAS claims adjuster, the DAS adjuster acted apologetically and professionally in spite of the customer's agressive and threatening tone.
