Again, I am not going to stoop to the level, but our coach last year in the rec progam had to resign or be suspended because he had an argument with Zach Smith. Zach is on your team Jamie. Zach swore at our coach and he was told to shut up and Zachs parents tried to get the coach fired. So he quit. Just more of what the smith's do to hurt hockey.

I say this, have MBX open up their bank accout and prove Dave Smith did not take money out of it. I already know what the answer is. Dave did get money from MBX and the MBX treasurer handled it.

Well Ghost Rider.... the fact that you brought something up that even I have no clue of, just proves that you are a little man in a small corner trying to stir up drama. Even though that has no relevance what so ever to this report, you are still incredibly illiterate. By the reading that I have done on this senseless page, I am now thinking that this person stalks the Smith family and is trying to plan an ultimate scheme to virtually accomplish nothing. It's not good to make assumptions from what your kids say, because then that makes them the parent.

Jamie, one of my kids heard at school that you were involved in a "incident" upon leaving Best Buy last year. I am sure everyone by now has heard the story. Let's hear your side of it.

Honestly, I don't know when to start. I guess i could start when i was 5 years old when i started playing hockey and when i met Dave personally at age 7 when we started the Myrtle Beach Wave. Dave easily took me to 15 tournaments because my parents had a busy weekend work schedule all of the time. He is a good hearted person that is being targeted by people who everybody knows, but doesn't want to say. It is ridiculous that the person who submitted this article can't come out to the public because they are too afraid to actually confront this. There simply is no subliminal facts to what these "concerned parents" are saying.  The allegations that he stole money from the team through jerseys and pants is insanity. Last week is was money from the M.B.X. account ( started by Doug Jones ). Accounted for the 60+ trophies i have because of the progress that he made for us as a team, the person saying his coaching is a "cancer" to the hockey league is A COMPLETE LIE. Be a man and speak, because you know indefinitely that you have no proven facts, just a rumor about a coach that secretly runs everything. When the first coach of the MB Wave, Darby left our team, Dave stepped up to coach 12 kids who had little talent at the age, for no cost at all. He is out of work for a reason that nobody even knows because they are not close to him. When people make accusations that Dave and Zach are a menace to the league, maybe you should start pointing fingers in the mirror... because posting and trying to destroy a persons reputation that has been in the game for way longer then you have, is indeed absurd. Zach has a temper, and everybody knows it, and the house league coaches on the opponent team always tell kids to mess him off his game. If you are targeting Zach, then you have to target me too because everybody has had their moments in stressful tournaments and gone berserk. I'm not afraid to give my name because if you come up and ask me, you already know that i'll fight it to the end, if you are stuck on the jersey 'laundering' scheme, you obviously didn't see the silk fitted jersey and pants. ( Unlike the cheap jerseys in the Children's leagues ) But my question to the people who seem to all come out of the blue and all of the sudden hate Dave, is why are you hiding behind a computer screen making false accusations on things you have no clue about? Also, the Myrtle Beach Wave has had more then 3 parties just for the record. (Oshima's house, Hooters, Kospa's grandma's)

Regarding Dave's coaching. The guy doesn't know how to skate and looks ridclious out there trying to run a practice in his sneakers. How do you teach kids to do something that you can't do yourself? There are kids that have gone through his Wave program that can't even make a decent pass or even skate with their head up- and that is not even when they have the puck! Yet the league that is pretty much controlled by people who know nothing about hockey, look to him like he is some kind of guru.

The Smiths in my opinion are like a cancer to hockey in Myrtle Beach. They are part of a little clique of people that control the league, where the same rules don't apply to them or their kids. From the sidelines the Smiths have caused more trouble for the league than anyone I can think of. The root of the problem is their son and his disrespectful tendencies. They will blame everyone else for his disrespectful behavior, and they use their connections in the leauge to harrass these people who have any conflict with him. Everyone- from the kids to the spectators get the blame, yet their Son can do no wrong.  Their Son has gone away on tourniments, lost his temper, got ejected and then before you know it Dave and Johanna are in the office of the director deflecting the blame from their kid onto the other kids for antagonizing him. Such an occurance happened last year at the Coastal Cup. Who do they think they are fooling? It's been like this for years!!! Yeah, and the parents who pay their hard earned money to go away to these tourniments spending all that money in vain because some selfish brat can't control his temper and the game gets blown.
Yes, little Zach can curse at the top of his lungs, break things with his stick, death threaten and try intimidate other players. Yet, they call themselves "good christians" and as far as the leauge is concerned they have never done anything to remove him. He just keeps getting slap on the wrist after slap on the wrist. If this had been someone else, they would have been long gone. This is why the Smith's are so involved on the sidelines and why Zach has never been expelled. Nobody wants a confrontation with them as they will soon find their character maligned by them with their hit below the belt dirty politics of rumor and innuendo.
Yeah, and Dave also used to run the Wave practices unsanctioned and thus uninsured so Zach's suspensions on the road, or vice versa were not carried over from one to the other. The welfare of the team was put at risk to protect one kid from his own big mouth.
My advice to any parent looking to put their kid in a hockey travel program in Myrtle Beach. Do it right and go to Wilmington or Charleston and play ice.

Your right about one thing, the smiths live in a glass house.

nice to see alot of people share this information and hopefully get this man out of the sport. Like I said we dont play there anymore because of him and his son.

If you are going to throw rocks at least put your name with it.  If you live in a glass house that is a hefty repair bill.

dave smith has gotten away with so much, we no longer play at the rink because of him and his son. Being christian I wont say what I think of Daves wife or his son. But his son is a bully and the rink allows him to pick on weaker and smaller children.
does it surprise me dave smith did this? absolutely not. He thinks he owns the rink.
