Used them for lawn care. They destroyed part of our front lawn and refused to correct problem. By far the worst company I have ever worked with in my life. The owner is rude and is totally disconnected with his business. He has employees that he trusts that are running his business into the ground. Just overall the worst Pest control company in Florida. Research who you chose and go with someone you can trust...don t go with dave s pest control.

Destroyed Lawn and Blamed "Airborne" Fungus!

True that a BBB complaint was filed and closed by BBB. It was closed only because the business responded. It was no closed to satisfaction of the person making complaint. Look at their BBB complaints. Most are closed and no resolution for customer being found. This is not unique to this one complaint. Furthermore, there were two national lawn care companies that came and looked at the damage and concluded the same thing. Damage was done by Dave's Pest Control tech Roy Manning, inadvertently dumping fertilizer onto lawn using spreader. The Branch Manager at one of America's largest lawn Care company's actually spoke to the owner of Dave's Pest Control directly - DAVID S. QUARTIER, and explained to him exactly what he found. That damage was caused by excessive fertilzer dumped. You can see it by the pictures. The damage is in straight lines and only confined to my property, not the neighbors who's lawn borders mine directly. The pictures who the clumps or fertlizer, the pictures show how its confined to my property alone, the pictures show that it was obviously damage done by a spreader. I also have video from my video security system. I will post the pictures and let everyone decide for themselves. This company is not reputable and there is a culture where employees try to cover each others mistakes......Not Good.....

Complaint Category: Services resulted in additional damage (exp. Damaged product during shipping)Complaint: Major Lawn Damage due to pesticides used by Dave's Pest Control.
After their most recent visit by Dave's Pest Control for lawn maintenance at my home, my wife and I noticed patches of grass that was starting to discolor. We assumed they had used a pesticide for weed control. Over the course of time you can then clearly see what appears to be tracks (now visible due to the dead grass caused by Dave's) that go from one side of my property to the edge of the other property line on my front lawn. The damage does not travel into either of my neighbors lawns. It's isolated to my property alone. There is also a track that starts from the street and wraps around a large Magnolia Tree on the front lawn that borders my neighbors yard.
The damage again is only isolated to my yard. I didn't have any problems with my front yard with anything prior to their treatment. I hired Dave's to help avoid problems that may arise...I never imagined theey would end up causing it. I ccontacted Dave's Pest Control, I will say the lady that takes the calls is very nice and always has gone above and beyond to help. She then had "Roy" contact me, he was the tech who treated my yard. He indicated that it was a fungus not at all caused by him and that he would treat with a fungicide next time he was out here.
I then called back to Dave's and explained that the issue I have with that explanation is that I hired them to treat my lawn so I wouldn't have to have fungus, weeds, lawn related issues...but more importantly, when the tech came to my house originally there was nothing wrong. Had there been a problem during the tech's visit he would have informed me. He even admited to me that no problem existed based on his observations during his treatment. That the problem occurred after his treatment. The lady then scheduled a supervisor manager to call me. I emailed them detailed pictures in the interim so they would have an opportunity to see the type and extent of damage. The manager called me and said based on his observations of the pictures it look like an aggressive fungus.
I asked him to explain how if it fact it was a fungus, the fungus only traveled in a straight line and did not carry over to my neighbors yard. That the fungus traveled the same pattern as their "spreader". He said it could have been airborne...but again it traveled in a straight line that mirrors how you would apply a "spreader". He also said it could have been caused by my lawnscaper if he had a contaminated mower..the problem with that explanation is that the damage is isolated only to my front yard. My landscaper also cuts my niegbors yard and she has zero damage to her lawn. I have pictures of the damage. I have snapshots of video images from my security cameras. Once you eliminate all the excuses that Dave's Supervisor provided. The cause of the damage is 100% clear. Dave's Pest Control caused. I'm not saying maliciously, but a mistake was made.

Case Number: 90097529
In response to Mr. William Rivera's claim number 90097529, our main office at Dave's Pest Control received a phone call in regards to Mr. Rivera's lawn concerns on October 18, 2012. It was promptly brought to our Service Managers attention shortly after. I returned Mr. Rivera's phone call in an immediate response to learning his concerns. Upon calling Mr. Rivera, he had informed me that he had emailed our Office Manager pictures of the lawn areas he had concerns with, to check the email, and call him back. I immediately checked the email containing the pictures and returned his call to inform him I had received them. Upon Mr Rivera asking me what I thought it was, I informed him it appeared to be a fungus, but will need to be looked at in person, to identify certainly. Upon Mr. Rivera's hearing the word fungus, he inquired information on fungus, which in a lengthy detailed manner I described the nature of, concerns of, as well as treatment.
Upon Mr. Rivera's response and interruptions during my verbal explanation of his concerns, I deemed it to be best suited for Mr. Rivera's interest and for customer satisfaction reasoning, that we meet in person so that we could conclude and confirm what Mr. Rivera's turf concerns were. I informed Mr. Rivera that I would like to have a Dave's Pest Control Representative immediately come out to his property at 3317 Sorrell Court in Deltona, FL and meet with his regular Dave's Pest Control qualified lawn treatment specialist.
Mr. Rivera declined on that day, but acknowledged that October 19, 2012 first thing in the morning would be more to his liking. At this point I confirmed with Mr. Rivera that his regular Dave's Pest Control qualified lawn treatment specialist, would be accompanied by our Lawn Specialist Supervisor between the hours of 8:00-9:00 am.
Upon arrival and after a thorough inspection of Mr. Rivera's concerned turf areas, it was concluded by our Lawn Supervisor and Mr. Rivera's qualified lawn treatment specialist that the concerns were indeed a fungus. Which is a soil born disease that is aggravated by certain weather conditions as can only be addressed as the concerns arise. As the Lawn Supervisor and treatment specialist offered to rectify the customer concerns and do a treatment to begin the mending process of the concerned areas, Mr. Rivera declined and order the Dave's Pest Control staff off of the property.
RE: Customers Revised Resolution:
We at Dave's Pest Control pride ourselves on customer service, and in any occurrence that we deem a misapplication error by any of our staff, we gladly will replace any of those areas with no questions asked.
Due to Mr. Rivera's concerns being a soil born fungus that always lives in the soil and affects the turf in certain weather conditions, a fungicidal spray is the only solution to correcting the problem, with a 7-10 day follow up spray of the affected areas, in which Mr. Rivera declined.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
On October 19 I contacted 2 other national recognized Lawn Care companies. Scotss Lawn Care actually came the same day. The Branch Manager from Scott's Lawn Care who has 15 years experience concluded that the damage was caused by whomever used the spreader that dumped large amounts of pesticide/fertilizer along the tracks visible on my lawn. Billy the Branch Manager at Scott's also spoke directly to the Dave the owner of Dave's pest control and explianed to Dave what his conclusion was how he came to than conclusion.
On October 22nd I then had Massey lawn care come and look at the lawn and they also concluded that the damage was caused by the large amounts of fertlizer/pasticide dumped by a spreader. I have 2 independent opinions that contradict that of Dave's. I also have footage from my security cameras that track when the pesticide/fertlizer was spread by Dave's Pest Control and show that the damage 100% coincides with the timing and pattern of the spreader used. The damaged based on video footage and 2 independent experts is that Dave's Past Control caused the damage.
Business Response
In response to case # 90097529, we at Dave's Pest Control have concluded Mr. Rivera's claim against Dave's pest Control to be invalid. On October 15th, 2012 Mr. Rivera called to express the concerns on his turf, I (Florida Sate Certified, Dave's Pest Control Service Manager) immediately offered to go out to his property to inspect Mr. Rivera's concerns with his qualified lawn technician as well as treat the affected area, in which Mr. Rivera declined. The next day our Lawn Specialist Supervisor and Mr. Rivera's regular qualified lawn technician met on his property to discuss Mr. Rivera's Turf Concerns (per Mr. Riveras request).
After the inspection and determination of the diseased turf areas, Mr. Rivera determined that the area was clearly from a defective spreader, in which, while on the property our staff removed spreader, lined it up with the tracks in Mr. Rivera's view and determined that not only did the affected area not line up with the affected area, but that the fertilizer distribution pattern on the one pass our tech made to cover his turf area with the spreader in the front of his property, was inconsistent with the double lines as on the property, we offered the immediately needed fungicide application at no charge, which was declined by Mr. Rivera.
The fungus that Mr. Rivera has on his property needed immediate attention which was declined by the homeowner, and as a result, the environmental conditions of this seasons weather will aggravate his diseased turf and cause more lesions on his property.
With our 32 years of accredited technicians and management, we conclude the homeowners concerns to be a fungus, in which our treatment was declined by Mr. Rivera. Should we have determined a misapplication error, we would have taken full responsibility of the damaged areas of Mr. Rivera's turf.
