Our local church's minister was contacted by David Coleman's father who claimed to also be a minister from Yukon, Canada.

He asked our minister to help his son David who was stranded in the local Denny's resturant get to Walmart and add minutes to his cell phone. Our minister paid $450 for hotel/motel/food accomadations with a promise to send a check to cover the cost.

I picked David up and took him to a Walmart where I paid $50 for a new phone card. He then pleaded with me to take him to a spoortings good store to buy stuff he needed to go back to Alaska since all his stuff was lost in transit to Florida where his church group was going on a missionary trip to Brazil. He promised to pay me back or have his father send the check to me. I fell for it and ended up watching his manic manor take me for $1100 at our local Cabalas. I then paid for his motel room, and $125 in gift cards for food. His cell number was in DC...202 and he did answer a few times. He called our minister and me multiple times trying to get us to go to Walmart and use a money transfer of $800 as soon as the $2000 arrived...which of course would never happen. He still wanted us to transfer the money with a promise the money was in the mail. Our minister did get a notice from the post office that something strange was going on with the letter they had...we never did get the letter or money.

He is listed as the contact for the Sub-Wholesaling Method on the internet, but his cell is no longer in service. We never found a minister in the Yukon who knew of David or his father. He also claimed his mother was in Anchorage and that too was false. He claims to be a Marine E-6 helicopter crew member who as injured in a crash. He does exibit physical impairement and as I said before, he has quite a manic personality. He appears to be religious and will pray with you.

He had a bus ticket to Lancaster, PA and told me he was going to Florida to catch up with this church group. He also told me he was going back to Alaska rather that going to Florida.

What is unfortunate is he took our church and me for over $1500 that we could have certainly use for our Family Promise and local people running into financial difficulties that our community of churches support.
