While looking thru Craigslist under "Jobs" I came across and ad stating that you can work from home. It asked for name, address and phone number to send further information and application.

The next day I received an email from this company stating that ..."I met their requirements"... and they were sending everything I need to start in the mail. At this point t made no sense to me and so I clicked out of my email as scam. Three more emails arrived the next day asking "why I had not responded to the congratulatory emails they had sent? and...

That 'my job' was that I was going to receive a package with money orders 'made out to me' totaling $2700.00 and that I was to take them to my bank and cash them. Then, take out my 20% commission and send the remaining monies to names and addresses of people from Nigeria which was included in the email.

I then received a UPS overnight package the next day. It contained 4 money orders totaling 3700.00. I took them to my bank and notified the manager of the fraud. I am making this report and notifying every other media I can contact, so as to stop them as best as we all can from ripping anyone off who has no Idea that this is a scam.

The emails were sent by a man named Dennis Leary. The UPS package came from a David Hetzel from Williamsburg, Pennsylvania - and the names to send the monies to were in Nigeria. Another person pulling the verya same scam but coming from the point of view of turning on lonely men and promising them much much more...

That person is going by the name of caroline anderson at pretticaro@yahoo.com - Unfortuanately, I had already 'deleted' the name of the other scammer (Dennis Leary) before thinking of reporting this and unfortuanetely I cannot recover it.

Also, I just received a call from this guy demanding to know if I received the money orders he sent, and that I was to do as his email instructed,. His phone number did not show up and he refused to give me a phone number as well as an address, however, he did state that he lived in the UK. he kept demanding in a threatening tone that I tell him whether or not I had received the package yet?... Suffice to say I am going to let him know of all my reports including the one made out to the bank and the police.
