I posted an ad on Craigslist for my iPod Touch, 2nd Generation, 8GB player and received a message from 'Dave Luggard' a few days ago. He told me that he was interested in buying it from me to ship to his cousin who is stationed in Nigeria as a wedding anniversary gift. He offered me $170.00 total for it (part of it was to cover international shipping.) He told me he preferred to go through PayPal because it is the safest form of payment. He sent me his email, the address I was to ship the package to and told me how he wanted it shipped (USPS express mail, 3-5 days.) I sent him an invoice on Paypal for the $170.00, and was sent an email from 'Service@Paypal' telling me that the $170.00 had been added to my account, but that PayPal would put a hold on it until I sent them the confirmation number of the package once it was sent. After that, the money was to be credited to my account immediately. I shipped the package and paid with my own money, money that I needed but figured would be easily replaced when I received his payment, and texted him with the shipping number and picture of the receipt with the number on it.

I got home and checked my mail and had noticed that the money was still not credited to my account and I started to worry. I contacted PayPal and was informed that the Email that was sent to me was fake and the man had scammed me. They asked me to contact him and make sure he sent the payment to the correct email address and urged me to have him spell it to me. When I texted him about it, he never replied with an answer as to what email he sent it to, but he kept telling me to relax and that PayPal would credit my money very shortly. Also, he kept assuring me that the representatives at PayPal don't necessarily know what they're talking about and that he would be contacting them to make sure it was all running smoothly. I had to rush back to the post office and have the packaged cancelled (which had already been shipped). I was able to cancel the shipment, but USPS told me they could not refund my money. I needed that $40 in my bank account because I am getting my Passport tomorrow and have JUST enough to pay for it. However, because I was supposed to have $170.00 coming to me today I figured I would be safe enough to go ahead and ship the item that this 'Dave Luggard' needed so urgently.

Now I not only am short the money I need for my passport for my trip to Sweden in 14 days, but I am also in a panic over this entire mess. The address he wanted me to ship it to was to Gabriel Peter, 30 Apesin Street, Mushin, Lagos 23401 (NG) The box was a medium sized flat rate box ($2 and some change) placed inside of a USPS envelope (not sure why they had to do that but its what they said), and it was sent at apprx: 11am on August 8, 2012 at the Great Bend Post Office in Great Bend Pennsylvania 18821 (USPS).
